Can the reported please repost this article after doing a grammar and spell check. It is very hard to follow all that is being reported, especially lines like, "The state called the victim's brother to testify in the trial, Lt. Zachary Mullins.: So is her brother Lt. Zachary Mullins, or is her brother testifying against Lt. Zachary Mullins, and who is being charged on multiple sex crimes?

Amber can write better than this. I don't know what happened. The bottom line is that the teacher (Defoor) and the victim's brother are both being charged with sex crime. I think it is sad that a teacher would be involved in this type of conduct but it is especially disturbing that the victim's brother was part of the perversion as opposed to protecting his sister from the abuse.

This crazy all you hear on news now is Teachers having romance intercourse with a student. Why don't the school boards do something about this before another teacher at any school does it again. This is got to be some crazy and weird stuff. I thought the teachers that are being hired to Teach the students: Math, Science, Social Studies, English. And NOT to make out with a student. This is So sickening.

Allow me to point out that for every sick, twisted incident like this, there are hundreds of thousands of teachers who go to school every day and would NEVER DREAM of doing such a thing. By the way, where were the parents? Who initially taught them about sexually appropriate and/or inappropriate behavior?

A little sex never hurt anybody. Too bad the parents did not enjoy watching their kids learn sex ed fro the teacher. That is REAL education.
You're a jerk. Please stop posting & subjecting others to your sick twisted sense of humor that no one else finds funny. This is a child we're talking about. There's nothing to joke about.

I detect a cover up on the so-called victim's side. Do any of you even understand how bizarre and child-like this accusation really is? It would be simple to accuse any teacher of something like this. Teachers have liability insurance of up to $1M to cover the costs of a court case by wrongful accusations. What twisted parent wouldn't put their children up to this. Please... Not everything you hear reported is truthful. Check into the background of the family and then decide.

Sad but true. I know of three people who were falsely accused, 1 by an ex-wife, 1 by a current wife & 1 by a girlfriend's teenage daughter that didn't like him. 1 got lucky & his accuser went to jail for contempt of court for showing her ass in court but the other 2 weren't so lucky. It is a very twisted thing for a parent to put those ideas about a person who loves them into the head of their young child. It also puts more people on the "list" to be kept up with by authorities when they need to be concentrating on the ones who actually did something. I think the 1 who makes the false accusation should get the same sentence that the accused would have gotten, maybe that would put a stop to some of it. I'm not saying that's what happened here but if they were trying to get money out of the school, why accuse the brother too? What will that accomplish? Unless it's the brother doing the cover-up.

As stated before, don't believe everything you read in The Decatur Daily and/or hear on the news. It's awful what this teacher has been put through. And if the brother is guilty of what the girl is saying, she has been through something more terrible. Hoping the truth comes out in the trial. And that this girl can get the help she needs.

This kind of thing keeps happening because it is the only way some people get "their 15 minutes of fame." They want attention so bad that they don't think about what they are doing to the rest of their lives. If we quit glorifying this for these teachers/abusers, it might stop happening.

I agree with an earlier post, that there are THOUSANDS of teachers who would never let anything like this enter their minds.

When I was in the 9th grade (man that has been 30 years ago), we had a teacher's aid, and we hooked up all the time. I can't say that it hurt me one bit. I graduated first in my class, with an 3.98 GPA. I am now in the middle of my career, as a engineer. I agree with one post about these gold diggers. These parents are using these "young men" to win a easy dollar. These "young men" are not being abused, trust me.

That teacher should not get her Paycheck for what she did to the girl. I mean come on that's pure stupid of her. I hope she gets fired from her teaching Job because for one a teacher is not suppose to be making out with a student period. If she wants to make out with a man then she needs to go to a bar or a Club or to a dating website and leave the kids alone. I know alot of parents will agree with me on this Why on earth would a teacher like her want to make out with a student in the first place even though it was a female and her brother. The girls brother knew it was wrong but why didn't he say Teacher I can't do it,it's wrong. Now not only it will affect the Teacher's Career but it will also affect the girl and her brother's life as well. Teacher are for Teaching and Not for making out..

It was a girl, not a young man. Her brother was an adult who was dating the teacher. Another article said that she was raped repeatedly over a period of 18 months by her brother & it was all supposed to have started on the night the teacher was alleged of being involved.

You're the sick one & not in the least bit funny. The rape of anyone, especially a child, is nothing to make fun of. If making sick jokes like this is how you entertain yourself you seriously need some therapy!

Sad that we have gone to a society of guilty until proven innocent. People like Bamagirl have already passed judgment on the defendant despite knowing none of the facts/evidence. The article is horribly written and leaves out a large amount of details about the case. I suppose that is the problem with media today shock sells and actual reporting doesn't.

Lets all wait until the jury has returned with a verdict before dragging this woman through the streets.
