Actually this clinic has been open several weeks now. They charge $45 to Spay and $35 to neuter both dogs and cats. They do require a currect rabies shot, but if you dont have one they only charge $10. I took my cat a few weeks ago and she did judt fine. My total was $55- which is alot better than the $100+ a typical vet would charge. I would recommend this clinic.

What a wonderful program! I was just calling around for feline neuter prices and they vary from $35 at this place to $250 - all depends on where you take the animal. WOW...that is a HUGE price difference!!!!

Some places in the area use the SNAP program...and its the same price as this place. Chase Animal Hospital, Complete Care Animal Hospital, Governor's Choice Animal Hospital, Pennington Animal Hospital, and Family Pet Care all accept the certificate.

Does it serve all of Northeast Alabama or just the Huntsville area?

anyone can go to it, they do not keep animals overnight so you must be able to pick them up the same day.

SNAP is good if you qualify. My income is too much and I am not on any welfare--- plus these places still make you have the additional shots required for the stay besides the mandatory rabies shot. It will still add up to be alot more than this place.

Good news here to see this at a more affordable rate. My only concern is picking up the animal the same day. They don't necessarily get the observation for any ill-effects like they do when they stay overnight.

That just means you, as the owner, need to pay extra attention to your animal and watch for any complications.

Do they do declawing as well?

There website: https://nalspayneuter.org/

It appears only spays or neuters, and I agree with you as with all things in life, sometimes you get what you pay for, in there case, not much more than the surgery.

No they do not house the animals overnight for observation, but they do have a contract with the emergency clinic on S.Pkwy that they give you information to call if there is any questions of concerns/problems with your animal after the procedure. No, they do not do declawing.

$10 or less for an operation- Im sorry lady, but if you cannot afford $35 to have an animal spayed or neutered than maybe you should NOT have the animal. Noone charges $10 or less for that type of procedure...sorry.

Actually Huntsville has a program that DOES provide spay/neuter and rabies shot for $10. to lower income individuals. Huntsville also has a caine/feline food bank for those that struggle with food for their pet. As a former rescuer that rescued extremly abused and neglected canines, sometime, from the affluent. I know first hand that money, nor formal education is never a guarantee that an animal is going to receive the care they deserve. Mostly the average pet needs food, shelter, and lot's of love. Yes of course there are exceptions to that as well, but on average, love and being part of a family is what makes them thrive, you do not have to have money to provide that. Reseach has shown some of the best adjusted canines live with the homeless. Go figure. Please Huntsville, and the Huntsville area is really to advanced for this type of mentality, don't judge others because they are lower down the economic totem pole than you.

It's not that they don't want to adapt to human society... they CAN'T adapt to being human sapiens. Please forgive these afriCAN’T-American peoples for producing illegitimate crack babies, nasty raping hiphop music, dealing drugs, being wannabee gangsta thugs, robbing banks, and stealing from the hard working American taxpayers. They CAN'T help themselves. It's up to the rest of society to Spay and Neuter the "bad ones" before they reproduce more bad ones. And maybe instead of declawing them, they can just remove their trigger fingers so they can't shot guns anymore. Until then, they will never be free from the chains that bind them.

this was a reply on the gun incident that happened at monoco pictures. What weirdo put it here?

Kudos to the vets for this program, and to the responsible pet owners who use it!

Those of you complaining about the cost of spaying and neutering shouldn't have a pet in the first place. What you need is to be spayed or neutered yourself!

If you can drive there they will give you the same price no matter where you are from or who you are. It's discount to everyone who uses the clinic.

It's wonderful that Huntsville has a spay-neuter clinic that provides services like that without having to miss a car payment to pay for it.

Too bad they don't do rabies vaccinations independent of the spay-neutering procedure. Most, if not all, Huntsville veterinarians deny pet owners the legally mandated rabies vaccination unless they are willing to shell out for an exam costing 3-4 times what the vaccination costs. Extortion anyone? And, just like the car repair shop, that checkup is where they discover reasons to charge for even more unneeded and unwanted services. What? Not willing to empty your bank account into your vet’s cash register? Well, I guess you must not really love your pet...

It used to be that even low income people could afford a pet without having to rely on charity. Heck, even humans can easily get a simple routine vaccination for less than $20 at the local pharmacy. Veterinary care, on the other hand, is becoming a middle class luxury. But, it’s all for the welfare of the pets, right?
