It is funny, as we celebrate our indepence and our "freedom" we take fireworks away from someone who rented a barge and was going to light them out on the water at thier own risk. They TELL us to wear helmets, seat belts, don't smoke, don't do this, don't do that, what has happened? FREEDOM is gone. No other species on earth goes so far to protect it's stupid & weak and then
on top of it, allows them to procreate. Perhaps if some of these laws were not around, the idiots would thin out. I wear a helmet when I ride, it is the smart thing to do. Should there be a LAW? NO! It is not the gov't's business.

That sounds real good and everything right up to the point where one of the mortars goes astray and burns down a home or goes into the crowd.

Not many houses or crowds around a barge, last time I looked. That's why they use a barge.

In an unrelated story, Baltimore city announced today that they were able to save $10,000 on this year's planned 4th of July fireworks display. Mayor Dixon's office credited the savings the benefits of eminent domain. The Mayor plans to use the money saved to fund various modern art projects in West Baltimore.

Which means the display will be a POS not worth fighting traffic to go see.

I used to go out to Breezewood PA (Phantom Fireworks) to pick up about $1000 worth of stuff for 4th of July and New Years celebrations on the family farm.

With the specials that Phantom offers,$1000 of fireworks can be a pretty good show.

Now all of the people who were going to stay at home and enjoy the show will be on the roads possibly drinking.
