Are you talking about the short term nursery (while you work out) or whole day center?

It's a great place! They do a lot of activities and always have something going on for the kids. The staff communicate with the parents well and are very understanding!

They are rude and do not communicate well at all. They are horrible at keeping you updated about what your children do during the day and if asking a question they skirt around and don't answer the question. This is from experience. Took my children out real quick.

Hmmmm doesn't sound like the daycare I know. They do an amazing job with children. I absolutely love that daycare

No they aren't rude at all, and maybe if you paid any attention at all they post everything the children will be doing or what they will need on the white board up front, or post signs on all the doors and down the hall.. If you cannot read that is your problem.

Wow I know all the staff personally and clearly have never heard of anything of the such sort....they have always filled out a report on anything that happens and never once have I heard of a kid breaking their arm maybe ur his making up stuff to bad mouth the daycare in which I know they work real hard to take care of other people's children and I don't even think they get paid enough for putting up with all the stuff they go thru m-f 8 hours a day. if you think you could do a better job then go right ahead

Ok here's the thing no day is perfect. if you want perfect then you should keep your kid with you then see how things go wrong...its is the same way in a daycare also. Parents should put in concideration what the daycare staff has to go through and that would be all daycares. Keep your kid with you at work or stay ta home you prolly already know what will happen thats why you look for outside help....Im just Saying

It's okay. I don't really feel like they listen to me much like when I expressed the words I would like my child to work on. Some of them make me feel stupid and like they know more then me. Even if a person did they shouldn't make people feel that way. But as of danger I do not feel alarmed any but I don't trust any daycare for the matter but what can you do. I think your'e child would be okay there. I would do a sneak interview like I did first then decide for your'e self upon things you see and here while visiting.

For your information I do have a job and the same one for about 7 years now, at a daycare.. I think I know what I'm talking about :) you want info; bc I have facts:

YMCA: great center, lots of field trips and opportunities for the children..

Crossroads: good center, great director, alot of kids that run wild..

Fab care: great center!

Kiwanas: never, the pound would better for your child..

Playmates: OVERATED!

Congratulations on your seven year job. Which day care do you work at? Only reason I am going with playmates is because no daycare keeps children after 5:30/6:00 pm and I do not get off work until 7pm sometimes 8pm and I can not leave early anymore its been made clear so if he goes to play mates which is across from my home then my dad has agreed to walk over and get him and keep him until I get off work. I am not bashing any day cares. In a parents mind no day care or sitter will ever be good enough for their child but if you do not want to live off welfare your whole life then you have to work. If the YMCA day care could keep children longer I would love to keep him their But I do agree I have heard nothing but bad things about Kiwanas. I myself wonder to why it is not closed down?

The only Playmates that is open past 6 is the one in Kenova. They may advertise that they stay open late but the Guyandotte one does not, they will transport your child to the one in Kenova and then you will have to pick your kid up there. All I have to say is you may be better off hiring a personal sitter for the hours you need your child watched, may be cheaper as well, and will be MUCH better care.
