Dropped my bike off there for the second time to be fixed and everytime the people there are jerks that treat you like you are bothering them! Last time I go there. I guess when you're the only game in town customer service doesn't matter. I'll drive to charleston from now on.

Why bother, he's one of them that treats me like i don't deserve to be in his shop!

The term is "bike snob". I got the same exact thing. The bike shop down by Marshall is nicer to regular bikers.

They are too busy to talk to you. There is a new one on 4th ave and 15th street

bicycle techs are like stereo salesmen. They are snobby unless you know a lot about their product and are willing to drop some bank.

I wish so much I would have known about the one fourth. Between me and a good friend of mine, we have spent well over a thousand dollars at Jeff's. I won't anymore!

Both of the bike shops in town are full of snots. I'll drive out to Johns Cyclery in St Albans over either one of those places. John and his employees are actually friendly and like to hat with you. The bike shop employees in Huntington all seem to be bearded douchebags.

Should see the people they put up with on daily basis, there is the recreational and sport biker and then there is the ones who ride bikes because they have other problems. They can be a real treat. Good luck having the 4th ave or Johns true a wheel for u cause they will suck at it.

That is all part of doing business. Just because a business has to deal with some "bad" customers that does not give them the right to treat all customers badly. In this day and age it is hard for a "mom and pop" business to survive. Poor customer service is not the way to survive.

I have never set foot in either shop but I called Jeff's last week with a question about upper end bike I had bought. The girl who answered short, snippy and was zero help. I called the shop on 4th and the girl was nice, helpful and was a huge help. I will be purchasing lots of parts and have some service done. Guess which shop I'm going to?

I know nothing about bikes but I have a son who loves to ride. I have taken his Walmart bike to Jeffs for a couple of years, he has needed the brakes fixed and simple stuff. They have always been nice to me. I don't know his name but one dude in there has went beyond his job to help me a couple of times. I know what you guys are talking about with the bike snobs, and a couple of times I have heard comments about my Walmart bike but not sure if they were customers or clerks. I beleive Jeff the owner has stopped what he was doing to help load up my Walmart bike and has always been nice to me. I can't afford a professional bike for my son but I want him to be safe and I trust the people at Jeff's. By the way stopped off at the new bike shop on 4th to check it out, looking for a cheeper but better bike at 10:15 they open at 10 but they were locked up tight!! So go later in the day if you go!!
