<quoted text>So do you think he was trying to cover for her (the mom) by saying she (the baby) was startled and jumped out of his arms? Why if it had already occurred prior to him getting her would he admit any injury had occurred in his presence? I'm in no way picking sides or picking on any response, just wondering.
Another good point..

How much "investigation" went into the mother and her habits? or did the high quality investigation focus ONLY on Mike Fannin?

I don't think he is covering for her so to say, I do think she fell out of his arms. But I also know she hit the couch, then rolled on to the floor. Now, I have plenty of friends with kids and I know that babies at any time can roll off a couch. Not saying that it doesn't scare them and they don't scream. But Mike having 2 of his own he prolly thought just that. She cried from being scared. I have never heard of a baby dying from falling onto a couch from at the most 2 ft in the air then rolling onto a floor. There is a 1st for everything tho. However, I do think there is a lot more to this story then being released. I think that while it maybe wasn't intentional I think other things had occurred within the 24 hrs prior of Mike getting her. Not saying she is a horrible mom. But if she fell...which I do believe upon hearing the doctors speak of her injuries, I don't think that would give signs of shaking baby. But I do think the walk mom spoke about would possibly if it was enough back and forth motion with out support of her head. I just hope it all works out for the best. I would hate to see Mike in jail for a crime that he didn't commit. Cause we all are aware of what the other inmates could possibly do to him.

The high quality investigation went in Mike. They looked at her residence and what I heard was there were so many boxes and just stuff lying around they could barely make it through the front door. They also spoke to the pediatrician who gave his thoughts and that baby emma was kinda delayed anyway...or maybe not delayed but defiantely not responsive like most babies her age. Such as the cooing and so forth. But of course they wanted it to sound just as they made it. "Man kills baby that lives in Marcum Terrace" Now I know MIke isn't perfect as none of us are. But he tried. He did what he could as far as working and seeing and taking care of his own children. He may have lived in Marcum terrace but he is an extremely clean, well dressed, well groomed man. He isn't the typical trash that is associated with the terrace. And the only trouble he has been in with the law that is his own fault is drugs...20 yrs ago...when he was young and dumb. Like we all have been. lol!

One more thing, a guilty man would have ran given the chance. Months ago Mike was somewhat released off his home confinement. He had his own apartment again, had a job, and was able to even drive his car. He stayed here. Worked and paid bills like the rest of us. I don't think a man facing these charges would have hung around knowing he was guilty.

Possibly. But even mom wasn't a wreck at the hearing and what they showed on TV. She was fairly calm considering....

She was probably medicated. I know I would have to be in this situation. Everyone brings up good points. Having known multiple crappy investigations in and around these parts, it is quite possible that Mike got hung out to dry. It's much cheaper for the police that way.

It seems that people are forgetting that a baby died regardless of what "you" think happened. It's been over 2 yrs since it happened so both families have had time to heal. It's a sad situation and I hate that it ever happened as I have a child that will forever be changed by this.

You seriously think people have forgotten about an infant dying? Give me a break. I just know he was found guilty of pre-meditating and intentionally killing that baby. Which to me is absolutely insane!! There wasn't any proof of that whatsoever. Also know that the jurors and the prosecutors went to lunch together at BW3 which shouldn't be allowed. Everybody is going to be changed by this forever. He won't be allowed to see his own children and another family lost theirs. It's sad on both sides..

Extreme retinal hemmoraging is clearly not comproable to a scratch and nurses are not more qualified than doctors. I'm not sure what you expect to happen. Do you expect the judge to give Fannin probation? That won't happen. Do you expect Fannin to appeal the conviction and win? That won't happen. Do you expect God to open the prison doors for Fannin like he did for Peter? That won't happen.
One cannot reason with irrationality and you are irrational. I'm sure you also subscribe to the school of thought that the world is flat. I am done.
Yes you are done. He is powerful. GOD IS MORE STRONG THAN ANYONE . You obviously need him .. I'm done

I was referring to the random people's theories on here when I said people have forgotten a baby is dead. Regardless of what "you think" happened.... I am a mother of one of Mike's kids and our life is forever changed. My heart goes out to the other family. I think it's wrong that people would even say anything negative about the mother because at the end of the day...her baby is gone. Was Mike a good dad? Yes he was...all around sad situation.

The baby isn't the only one that's dead. Pretty sure a part of everyone involved is dead. In a place that can never be resuscitated. The mother is to blame for leaving her baby with someone she didnt know that well (really, who in their right mind does that?) Mike, for agreeing to it, ect ect...

The mother was fooled by a POS, it appears a few people posting on here are also fooled by this POS, even after he killed a baby. How was she supposed to know that he was a killer? You arm chair quarterbacks are beyond stupid. I hope Mike stays in jail for the entire 40 years. The prison population love baby killers.

I love the bitter sweet verdict, he had a few seconds to hear "not guilty", then the real verdict..., GUILTY! Gotta love that gotcha moment, priceless!!!!

Ummmm. Most people run background checks and references on ppl they let baby sit their kids. What mother who is a nurse, drops her kid off in the projects? Really. What the f--k?

She was dating the POS. I would guess the vast amount of single women do not perform background checks on their boyfriends. The POS was claiming to be a dedicated member of Christ Temple church, she trusted him and that cost her dearly. I feel horrible for her and put 100% of the blame on the killer.
