I think they just come through to make sure all the bulletin boards are being maintained.
1. Get group of highest paid local management together.
2. Walk to bulletin board display area.
3. Take turns saying "flex" and "toc" and "esh" and "fixed" and "Q1" and "Q2" and other acronyms we learned at the University of Poor Management while working on our Masters in BS!
4. Pick one guy in the group and yell, scream and belittle him to the point that they don't remember what we were mad about!
5. Say, "we want to see these numbers turned around in 2 (days, weeks, months) depending on their anger level at the time.
6. Go to the front office and decide to cut man hours by 10 percent and increase production by 20 percent
Crash course in Six Sigma!!
You are a genius. That is the special metals way...

Don't you know, the PCC managers are from outside the WV area so they are 1000 times smarter than us dumb hillbillys (or so they think and act). They are so divisive which does nothing unless they are wanting the union guys to strike next year. Maybe this is part of their plan

Just because you turned in your Union card for a few dollars and a desk out front, don't think we are all that stupid!
Some of us still have a conscience and feel that people should be treated like humans and couldn't do to others the things that you take pleasure in doing to them.
I'd like to see the company offer Union jobs to their supervisors and salary folks that are tired of being beat down and threatened with their job if they don't meet some unrealistic goal that was set by someone who has never heard of some of our alloys much less ran them on this duct taped, wire tied equipment that we are using!
I bet you would trade a couple of your dress shirts and your name plaque on your door if you could have your Union card back!
Maybe you can apply for a 70% job at Caledonian after they bring Yankee Asskisser in to replace Former Shop Steward-Turncoat!
you sir are an idiot! I worked there for 6 years, paid my union dues, and was devoted to that union. I was done very wrong by the company because of having diabetes(they knew this when hiring me) and Greg K. the president of local 40 as well as a few other union reps sat at my meeting AND NEVER SPOKE A WORD! THEY DID NOT EVEN NOTIFY ME OF MY GRIEVENCE MEETINGS!! They fill their pockets with union dues and go on so called "union" trips. When they come back they have even bragged about going to strip clubs and bars on their "free" trip!!!! Anybody with any common sense can see that usw local 40 IS A SCAM!!!

You don't need them to keep your job! You need them to maintain the benefits that you have gained due to others struggling and fighting for them in the past! If the former employees of INCO had been a limp noodled sucka$$ like you are, you wouldn't have vacation days, overtime pay, holiday pay, company contribution to your insurance plan, seniority rights! They would do away with these in the blink of an eye just to decrease costs and increase stock share! They don't like you as much as you think they do. Stop swallowing for a while and see how they treat you! Or take one of the supervisor jobs that they are continually advertising in the newspaper. I'm sure you'd qualify! You've already aced the stupid part!
THEY DO NOT HELP ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES AT THAT PLANT! YOU ARE IGNORANT TO THINK OR SAY OTHERWISE! TRUST ME I PAID THEIR DUES FOR YEARS AND WHEN LIED TO BY COMPANY DOCTOR THEY DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL!!!! THEY DIDNT EVEN NOTIFY ME OF MY GRIEVENCE MEETINGS! AND SO YOU KNOW BEFORE YOU FLAP UR GUMS NEXT TIME, THEY ARE TAKING AWAY THE BENEFITS LITTLE BY LITTLE EACH YEAR, THEY ROBBED THEIR EMPLOYEES OF THEIR RETIREMENT, THEY TAKE AND TAKE AND THE UNION REPS LET THEM!!! LOCAL 40 ARE COWARDS

Poor Samantha, how can you be so ignorant?
Talk to any of the several people who have gave up their rights that they have gained by being represented by a Union! All of them complain about how the company just keeps taking more from them and requiring more of them. What do you pay?$10 to $15 dollars a week Union dues? You'll pay more than on your insurance the minute you decide to no longer be represented by the Union. One of the fence jumpers said during last contract negotiations that his insurance was "$hitty", but he still thought we should have it too! Thankfully, the Union stood strong and maintained a decent insurance plan with a manageable premium. You can bet that our insurance will be one of the big issues during the next contract negotiations which are only a little over a year away. I hope that you can open your eyes to the fact that what it costs you for Union dues is nothing compared to what this company would do to you if you didn't have the benefits and rights that the Union fights very hard to maintain! Ask a fence jumper if they are better off now or if they would like to be paying dues again! Some of them will still tell the truth!
POOR POOR Biggin!!!! lol, I supported that union, and the very first time I EVER asked for their help they just threw me under the bus!!! I agree unions are needed IF they are not like local 40 in Huntington. In 6 years of working there our insurance more than doubled, lost our dental, THEY HAVE NO RETIREMENT unless you make your own, and if you hurt yourself working for them they will just shit can you. So NOW I ASK: HOW COULD YOU BE SO IGNORANT??????

Unless you work there, you really have no idea what you're talking about. It's not that the employees aren't happy to have a job, it's that the inept management is running that place into the ground. The hourly workers have more experience with the day to day workings of the plant, but management thinks they "know better" and will try to get by on making metal with duct tape and chicken wire. It's hurting the quality of the products and the management refuses to listen.
AMEN!! I witnessed this from 2005 to 2012 personally! people have no clue unless they work at that circus! Even some who work there are very blind to whats taking place.

That right the company would just give vac, b-days , 16 hr rule , 12 day rule , &72 he notice just because they care about u . Oh wait that's right they don't because they always go after that in negotiations . But good luck if you think being non union would work out for u .

yes, because they can't just hire someone at minimum wage to push the button (LOL).
You are highly skilled and the company can't survive without you (LOL).
Take the check and be happy or see if McDonald's needs a McNugget chef.
with the past history of local 40 reps, I would say give it 10 more years and it wont be any better than McDonalds (LOL). with D.O.D. contracts and many others they could afford to make the whole place a lot better. instead they run it in the ground, holler more more more, and crap on the people who need the job the most. While the union just watches, unless your a pill head or porn lover!!! they have one of each in the primary mill now as bosses and that's not counting Brent Cardwell

Quit whinning . The union was supposed to be watching our pension fund to make sure it wasn't under funded. As soon as it was, they filed bankruptcy & claimed they would shut the doors if the had to keep their pension obligations. Our union did nothing .
So we got screwed 11 yrs ago by a federal judge in Ky. Don't act like your case is anything special , the company and the union will screw you every chance they get .

Yeah, I know. Just thought that if you are in the carpenter shop maybe you could build a small Ark and not allow New Yorkers or anyone with ZERO shop experience to board.
Then we'll plug the drain that goes into the Guyandotte and ride it out till the rest go over the wall.
