Doesn't anyone question why another call center is opening in Winchester just hour & half away ? Especially when Amazon's revenue is down and expecting a slow holiday season due to the economy.
Though about that also with Ky site opening. Wv gave a big tax credit for the next five years. I give it four more years and they will close.

. I am thinking Amazon will get a big tax break with having both a call center and fulfillment center in KY. After the call center gets built and fully staffed, we will see layoffs in Huntungton then closed within 2 years, if not sooner.

That makes no sense! Why would they put all that money into a new building just to close it 2 years later? Amazon started out in Huntington in a small office space only to expand over the years.

I imagine they built the kinetic park building that size for a reason. They've learned after 13 winters that at any given time that is how many people are worth keeping in Huntington. The hiring pool is drying up, and instead of pumping a dead horse they are expanding to a other low income area to play savior.

Its great to see my co-workers on the clock using the Internet like this even stupid enough to put your name. Kinda stupid since shows up Seattle. Amazon has really went down hill these passed two years with hiring. Its starting to be just like GC Services. Use to be a nice place to be.Now its drug invested. Used to be if you did drugs it was keep on the outside. Not anymore.
Again, I have been here a year and have not ever heard anyone talking about drugs. I don't want to hear that mess. Drugs and work do not mix. Keep your drugs to yourself. But I think its a great place to work and I put my best foot forward in order to get hired and I can always pass a drug test.

. Remember the money United Airlines spent for the call center in Barboursville just to close it 4 years later after all the tax breaks & credits from the county and state ended. We know this will happen to Amazon also. The money spent to build the Kinectic Park building was just pennies to Amazon. A company saves millions on an empty building by not having to pay salaries and upkeep on the building. A call center building is easy to sell since 90 percent of it is open space and easy construction for someone wanting to buy it and remodel it their way. Also like the old WalMart on Rt 60. Because of the open space, HIMG could design it their way without not having to knock down a bunch of walls.

Take another look hun. It's not the back rows. No one said it was. But I've seen 2 black cars side by side, and one of them takes up 4 spaces while the Mustang takes up 2 spaces. I really don't care at all, but it just looks rude and unnecessary.
Oh, and I can tell by the way you 'type n talk' that you are special! Special Ed.
You dont care? I'ts funny Your original post was deleted. If you didnt care you wouldnt be calling ppl hoes and talking about What your opinion is on whats excepted as a justification for one car taking multiple spots.

And I quote.. "Unless you paid over 100 grand for your car, do not take up the whole parking lot, duh. idk"

are they really taking the Whole parking lot? "duh. idk"

Your An Idiot. And Special is a common typo. I walked rite in to that one

Amazon is turning into gc services. They used to care about their employees but now it's just numbers. They used to have a rigorous hiring and training process to make sure they hired people who could do the job. Now...I'm surrounded by crackheads and junkies. The give pedophiles management positions and treat decent employees like dirt. Im looking for other work because I've lost faith in the company. Amazon sucks!

Sara, what you are saying is being talked about by alot of people at work, except for the pedophile stuff, which I have never heard of. I blame the recruiter(s. They say they do background checks but if that is true, half the employees would be out of there today. They should drug test and require 3 former employer references that are actually checked. After 5 years, I have no problem helping a new hire (green badge) since I remember being a new employee and needing help myself, but the questions they are asking me makes he wonder what are the trainers doing during the 2 week classroom training. I heard a new hire on the phone the other day ask a customer "What is the A-Z guarantee, I have never heard of that" Then he put the customer on hold and ask another new hire sitting near us what was the A-Z guarantee, the other new hire said "I've heard of it, but not sure what it means" Then later in the day, a new hire told a customer "We only take MasterCard & Visa" After she got off the phone, I told her that I overheard her tell a customer that and did she know that we accept about 8 payment types including prepaid cards and gift cards. The new hire told me "I don't remember going over those in class" I know this lady was being serious, she seems like a very nice person who wants to have the right information and do a great job so she can go blue badge hopefully before the end of the year. I feel like if I say anything to management about what I am hearing, that will think that I am playing Mrs Know It All and trying to make new hires look bad. You use to be able to talk to managers about concerns but now you are best just to come to work and keep your mouth shut, do your work and go home. Because of this, I am spending my evenings at home applying for any job I can find just to get out of there soon. I have heard that managers are aware of Topix postings and read them, do if you are reading these comments, please take a few hours each day to sit in on training and spend more time out of the call floor listening in. You will be amazed how much wrong info is being given to customers because employees don't know the answers.

wow, I have been here a year and have never heard of anyone talking about drugs. Yes, some of the new hires look like crack heads! I really hate working somewhere where the employees feel that they can look however they want. I was walking behind some of them yesterday and this one guy had real long hair in a pony tail and all I could smell was dirty hair! I have worked at just about all of the call centers in and around Huntington and Amazon is by far the best, but just like you and everyone else, I hope to God they don't go down hill and start making unnecessary 'cuts'. It's sad when you first start a job and its all good and then a yr or so later, you start noticing the 'cuts' and it just makes everything nerve racking by not knowing what is coming next! AEP did the same thing. When I started there, the new hires got all kinds of new office stuff, trips out with the line crew and meter readers. Now, none of that. They cut it all and no one likes working there anymore.

you are crazy?! They're opening a new site because Amazon is growing. Too many people love shopping on Amazon. There is no way in hell they will close it down. One more time...you are CRAZY! Are you sure your not on drugs?

. It is my understanding that Amazon doesn't own that building but leases it. I just also feel that Amazon will be leaving Huntington within a year and just hiring anyone since they know a serious job seeker wanting a career would not take a job that was going to soon end.

Only drug being passed at AMAZON...Is FOOD...and lots of it...my complaint is other reps at other sites...what type of criteria did they need to get that job...i hate when i transfer and the email is AMERICA.COM & they ask you to spell it...and im not being racist cause i can spell africa, brazil, philippines, and kentucky...I think the hiring bar is high at the huntington office and keeping up with the JONESES at this site is a challenge...i noticed that they new hires need more phone etiquette and confidence and i have no doubt they will become good associates due i think our training is efficient & any good employee will succeed...as for employees posting or slandering on here...its just slander ...why talk about it

The hiring bar has been lowered. All the good people are transfering to VCC. I agree with hiring anyone with a pulse. The training has really went down hill these past two years. Hopefully they do not leave Huntington.

. What is VCC ? I interviewed at Amazon when they were downtown maybe 5 years ago and it was the toughest interview I had ever had. You would have thought that I was interviewing for a job at the Pentagon. I ended up taking another job. My cousin interviewed and hired by Amazon last month. My
cousin posted on my Facebook wall that she got a job at AMERSON...it wasn't a miss type, she thought the company was spelled AMERSON.

I don't know man, I've referred several people who were not hired, it's absurd.

. Tell your friends to dye their hair green, don't shower for a month, get their lips, tounge and eyebrows pierced then reapply. They will be hired immediately.
