New Amazonian

Irvine, KY

#1 Aug 3, 2012
I just accepted a position to become an Amazonian at the new CS center in Winchester, KY. Very excited. I would love to know anything and everything about the work environment. What's a typical day like? What are the kind of schedules/shifts? I keep hearing about how amazing our benefits will be: I understand they become effective Day 1. Are they included in your employment? I am a single father so insurance is very important for my daughter and I. P.S. I LOVE Huntington. Drive there a few times a year just for Biscuit World.:)

The work environment is very friendly, laid back, relaxed - as long as you do your job, no one will bother you.

Wear pretty much whatever you want, HR appropriate of course.

Always something going on, pot-luck dinners, parties, contests, meetings, team events, group events, summer picnic, Christmas party, etc...

Very good company to work for!

I would avoid Amazon. No job security. If you have low performance numbers, you are out of there. No second chances.

who are the dumb hoes that take up 4 parking spaces with their black cars? Unless you paid over 100 grand for your car, do not take up the whole parking lot, duh. idk who you think you are. You are not special. You work for a call center.
I park in the back bc I like to walk, and i dont EVER take up 4 spaces. I drive a 2010 Nissian Altima, so if you have a problem. Come to me like an adult. I work M-F 11-730. Thanks=)

Its a really good job! Obviously some drama happens but that's in every call center. Very laid back dress code good benefits. If you do your job then you don't have any problems.

Take another look hun. It's not the back rows. No one said it was. But I've seen 2 black cars side by side, and one of them takes up 4 spaces while the Mustang takes up 2 spaces. I really don't care at all, but it just looks rude and unnecessary.

Oh, and I can tell by the way you 'type n talk' that you are special! Special Ed.

Im one of those Dumb hoes that take up 4 spaces =]

No one parks back there and anytime cars start parking near us we move back another row.

I dont like tight parking spaces I enjoy being able to open my car door and not having to worry about the people next to me hitting my car.

Like johanna said, Come talk to me if you dont like it, if we are offending you or taking your parking space.

I am offended so many people are offended. Its quite ridiculous to be so worried about what other people are doing when it doesnt effect you in any way.

I thought it was all adults here??

Its great to see my co-workers on the clock using the Internet like this even stupid enough to put your name. Kinda stupid since shows up Seattle. Amazon has really went down hill these passed two years with hiring. Its starting to be just like GC Services. Use to be a nice place to be.Now its drug invested. Used to be if you did drugs it was keep on the outside. Not anymore.

Too bad I don't work in Seattle. It would take alot for me to give up Amazon. I'm customer obsessed. So what if I put my name on here:)

. Now they hire anyone with a pulse. So much talk inside the building about drug use. I give this place a year or two then will close down. Now people will say that Amazon wouldn't spend money on a new building just to close it in a few years. They would save money closing it down. Doesn't anyone question why another call center is opening in Winchester just hour & half away ? Especially when Amazon's revenue is down and expecting a slow holiday season due to the economy.
