Jesus would likely have been too smart to get mixed up with the Tea Party. He thought that we have obligations to one another that are more than just empty talk.

Jesus is still alive and well and living in the Hearts of those who believe in Him. But until you repent, believe and trust that He is the Son of God, you have the freedom to believe that He is a tea partier... Nancy

You don't even understand your own fables. Just for laughs what part of his teachings would be considered tea bag friendly?
From the Book of Schlafly.
Jesus was walking down the street and saw two men who were sick. Jesus went to the other side of the street, because he didn't want to be late for an appointment with some wealthy businessmen.
As Jesus passed by, he did yell, get a job, to them.

And from the book of Paul, which is the inspired word of God, He touched that man and the man was instantely heald of his sickness.

The book of Paul?

Humans are complex individuals. Considering that man was made in the image of God, one can deduce that God is much more complex than human. Jesus, as God on earth in human form, is way to complicated for mere mortal humans to understand, yet we try to categorize him into our own microspheres of understanding. That is not possible, therefore much faith is needed.
Conversely, God is love. Can it get more simple than that? Another of the great paradoxes in Christianity.

As to the tea party statement from the op, who cares?

2 Thessalonians 3:10 (King James Version)

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."

He was referring to people in the communities who thought they were too important to share the work(entitlements).....It did NOT refer to poor people.

I've seen another translation that indicates that he was speaking to those who wanted the benefit of the church without helping to build the church. The same concept would seem to apply. However, it is Paul and I've always wondered how much "spin" he put on things.

Think of how many battles would end instantly if someone would have written down what Jesus was saying when he said it.
