Apparently, throwing a hissy fit when you do not get your way is a liberal thing. Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar threw hissy fits and walked out on an interview with Bill O'Reilly. Now, President Barack Obama is throwing hissy fits and walking out on America.

With democrats spending out of control and the nation's economy mired in one of the worst recessions of all time, it would be nice to know that our leaders are sitting down and trying to work out a solution. Unfortunately, they may have to do it without President Obama, who recently threw a fit and walked out of a meeting with Republicans after they merely insisted on cuts in spending and tax rates.

According to a report on Politico's web site, during a meeting on raising the debt ceiling with House Majority leader Eric Cantor, the President became upset that Republicans were insisting on tax cuts or a cut in spending equal to the amount the debt ceiling would be raised. After hearing their proposal, Obama became angry, lectured Cantor, said he would take his case to the American people, and stomped out of the meeting.

For their part, Republicans were willing to compromise with Obama, offering several votes to raise the debt ceiling in increments to allow for some tax cuts or spending to take place, but Obama insisted in an "all-or-nothing" solution, threatening to veto any other plan that would not raise the debt ceiling by $2.5 trillion.

Republicans had their chance 16 or so times to be part of a budget conference committee. They refused each and every time. Now that they have stuck their own tail in a crack they want to come to the table.

No.

I could care less if it stayed shut down. Now the gov knows what's its like when they ship our jobs overseas. I would like to see congress and all the top brass scraping up change to buy a loaf of bread.

It's not Obama who has screwed the pooch here.

It's the Republican slavishness to the Tea Party. Hopefully, this will be a means to an end and eliminate any serious influence by the Tea Party and it's merry band of anarchists.

@ truby? u make no sense... obama has been to f* the american ppl since the day he was sworn into office ....

& @ gosh?, all those old school fat cat republicans need to retire .... their ideas are greedy & outdated. it is much better to embrace the new GOP than to accept a divided one...u will surely fail. proof is in the pudding ..... even boehner see's the strength behind what you refer to as the tea party. we are doing what the old GOP was too scared to do. putting our foot down. u know the financial disaster waiting for us.... obama wants to raise the debt ceiling 17.6 trill so we can borrow MORE money to pay back what we already cant afford to pay. you gave gov't permission to dip in our pockets for ssi, disability, various safety nets ...all in which was mishandled by the government... facing bankruptcy... trying to figure a way to pay back what we already paid.... & now he wants to do the same thing w/obamacare .... govt healthcare across the board. kinda sounds like u want to jump on the gov't assistance bandwagon, urself.

face it ur generation screwed up .... u made a mess by allowing the gov't to get too big.... & now u want to let them get even bigger. thats the ideas the got us where we are today.

love us or hate us, join w/us or divide urself. the nxt generation of GOP is here & we are not going anywhere. its ur choice... old school republicans can get left in the dust... makes no difference to us.

i'm not scared of the gov't shut down or debt ceiling .... its a problem that already exists... not a priblem that exists just becuz we shut down & refused to raise the debt ceiling. screw kickin the can down the road. its time to hunker down & take care of this soaring problem while we still can ... while we still have some ssi & unemployment left. dont trust the gov't to use ur tax $'s to fix it... we've seen their track record.

^^ yea. obama needs to give it a rest. he looks like a complete a$$... not just in our eyes... but the whole worlds eyes. the american ppl want a healthcare reform.. but taxes & penalties on working ppl only is not the answer.... the american public (label what u will, tea party, republican minority, whatever) represents a group of american citizens that demands he listens to our request.... hj res59 only requests that he give ine more tax/penalty free year to EVERYBODY ... not just businesses & unions. he insists on ignoring us? then shut it down. what do we have to lose? our homes? our cars? our jobs? our pensions? our 401k's? our social security?? so many have lost so much.... what do we care.... only thing left to lose is his ridiculous obamacare tax burden . and to that? i say good riddence. him & his socialist ideals....wow!!.... absolutely cant wait til 2016!!

No, the Republican's don't want to delay ACA until it's better. They want to delay it until 2014 when, hoping they win the Senate and keep the House, they can kill it. Then we get another 25 years of ungodly cost increases and uncompensated care, which drive's medical providers, especially small hospitals, right to the edge if not over then edge. I don't want THAT kind of "fix" to ACA. The penalty for not buying a policy is something like $95.00 a year. So what? If that's a lot of money to you then you probably qualify for a subsidy.

ACA converts a great deal of system killing uncompensated care to compensated care. That is a great thing for the system and the people.

The votes are in the House. Boehner knows it, his caucus knows it and the Democrats know it. The Republicans continue to own this mess and THEY know it.
