I highly doubt you have "many gay frieds" as you claim. You probably have gay acquaintances, because to be a "friend" you must accept people as they are, so long as they are not harming anyone. As to the sexual abuse claim, I know many gay folks and almost all of them tell me they endured no sexual abuse as children. Some, however, did suffer sexual abuse at the hands of "heterosexual" men after the "heterosexual" found out they were gay.

Kenn,

Did you grow up in a home without a strong male influence? Was your dad around, did he spend time with you doing masculine activities?

I don't know about Kenn, but I grew up with a strong male influence (my father) who spent time with me doing masculine activities and yet I'm as gay as one can possibly get, imagine that. My parents as well as my brothers and sisters are all role models for heterosexuality, I wasn't molested as a child and I grew up as an army brat, so I wasn't "exposed" to homosexuality in my youth, so what's your stereotype explanation for me?

I know why I am same sex attracted, but do you?

My father and I went hunting together. He was an engineer and taught me many things. He was a wonderful man and I wish he were alive today! Nothing he did was the cause of my Transexualism. It just happened! Period! Don't waste you time looking in dark psychological corners for a cause, you'll never find it. This thing (Transexualism) has been studied by smarter people than you and I. It was the great Dr Harry Benjamin, who after years of frustration with it said "If we can't change the mind, then let's change the body!" and SRS was born in the USA.
SRS (Sex Reassignment Surgery) has about a 99% cure rate. Other Drs, working with other problems can only wish they had those numbers.

Yes, But does it include Gender identification/ presentation? Homosexuals and Transexuals are not the same thing. In fact, there's a lot of difference between us. A law that's based on "sexual orientation covers gays, but not Transexuals.

Unfortunately, it offers protections only on the basis of sexual orientation. While an inclusive bill would be far better, we are talking West Virginia here and it's even less likely that such a law would pass.

God destroyed Sadom and Gamora for the very same things that are going on in todays world....he will do it again....homosexuality is the same as being a drunk, druggie, criminal, thief or a rapist.....God tells us that we must repent of our sin and turn away....All of us are in the same boat so to speak no matter what our sin is. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow....it doesn't matter what century we are living in we still have to follow God.

Hate is a sin too. I find it odd that WVians are actually addressing this. A few weeks back in WV, a teacher was found in a motel room with a 15 year. Most of the male and some female posts I read from WV were praising the 15 year old and wishing that had happened to them. So much for Mountaineer morals eh? A gold domed capitol overlooks one of the most crime heavy areas of Charleston while the homeless lay on the street staring at all that gold.

I didn't say that I hated them I'm just saying what it says in the Bible.....Maybe you need to get the Bible out and read it for yourself! Homosexuality is looked at by God like any other sin.....As for the homeless yes we do have homeless people and need to do something about it..but I'm sure wherever you live has homeless people and sin going on so you don't need to talking about us West Virginians.

Really? If you actually had a clue as to what the Bible says, you would have spelled Sodom and Gomorrah correctly.

Funny, the word homosexuality doesn't appear anywhere in the Bible and if you're using a "translation" that uses it, it isn't being faithful to the original text. If you want to look at homosexuality as a sin, go right ahead, but don't be blaming God or the Bible for your choice...

And I guess yo know this as God told you personally? Your words speak for themselves. You don't actually have to use the word hate to demonstrate hate. You have way more than homeless buddy and as a Christian if that be the case there are way many more Christian issues for you to focus. Like feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, stop domestic violence, etc etc. I'll deal with God about me you don't need to concern yourself. Now be a real Christian and go do some real Christian acts. There is sin everywhere you are correct. However as one who has many fond feelings for WV I don't like to see the ugly side the only one shown.

Apparently you have never read the story of Sodom and Gamorrah. Let me give you the opportunity. To read the whole story, you have to begin at about chapter 11. This is just the incident in question.

Genesis 19 (KJV)
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

[Note: "both old and young, all the people from every quarter" Who was at Lot's house? Men, women, boys and girls -- all the people]

5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

[There is a lot of question as to what "know" means but you are convinced that it was sex, so let's agree the people were banging on the door wanting sex.]

6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

[I would assume that you are heterosexual and attracted to people of the opposite sex. If someone who knew you, someone who wanted you to change your mind about something, would they offer you the opportunity to have sex with someone of the same sex? They would know that would be a stupid move.

The same would be true if there were Gay men at the door. Lot would have known offering daughters would be stupid.]

9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

[Verse 9 is a clue of what this story is really about. If you want, I will go into that issue further.]

10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

Now, what is this story about? People outside banging on the door demanding (you think, OK) sex. What is that describing? Degrading, demoralizing rape! If they were demanding sex, then they were trying to rape!

Rape has absolutely nothing to do with two people of the same gender in a loving, committed relationship. Has nothing to do with homosexuality.

Try reading again Connie, youre either misled, lying, or have a hard time comprehending what you read. The bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, read some of pauls letters to the churches. Justify it however you want to, but the fact is the bible prohibits same sex....sex.

Rick, ofcourse homosexuality "the word" is not in the bible, the men lying with men is. Besides im sure the bible your reading has had lots of words taken out and replaced, try reading psalm 83 18 and maybe youll see an example, i doubt it though.
