I just do not get it. People get murdered, abducted, shanked, attacked, jumped and all kinds of horrible...violent acts and HPD never catches anybody. Sure...they got that traffic stop harassment down to a science..but when it comes to actually solving a murder..doing something that really...seriously affects the community..THEY DO NOT COME THRU.

When murders and other violent acts continue without remorse..nor fear of getting caught..this kind of stuff really effects familys on deep emotional levels. Here in htown..people can slaughter kids and get away with it..abduct good family loving people, sell drugs and steal with impunity..where the fvck is batman when you need him?

HPD this is to you. When it comes to the most horrendous human acts..you fall short..you do nothing..and the murderers run free..and the typical family unit suffers in ways obviously you cannot comprehend. Train better...hire new people..fire the old...do something b/c this is getting bad...and the people of htwon are tired of your incompetence. We pay your wages..your supposed to protect us..AND YOU ARE FAILING..

Although I try to give police the benefit of the doubt, I must agree. The brazen actions by the drug dealers is outdone only by the ineptitude of the HPD.

God forbid anything happen to you in this town that you would depend on the HPD to bring you justice because it wont happen! Murder, those detectives could roll in incriminating evidence and still have no suspects, suspicious deaths dont get investigated. They will quickly jump to rule out these crimes as accidental or suicide so they wont have to do the investigation and paperwork. The HPD is extremely busy solving NOTHING! If people only knew what these detectives tell family members that have lost their lived ones they would be disgusted.

No they do not. If you mean a investigation..that leads to a arrest and a conviction...no dude...they do not. Not sure how you could argue that with all thats been happening in this town in the last 5-6 years.

It started with the prom kids getting murdered. It has been going downhill ever since. I can count probably 7 for sure murders that have gone unsolved, if not more.

Then they write off obvious foul-play murders as suicides. They are terrible at their jobs..and they are failing to protect us. Something must change...

I have to agree. Megan was one of my very best friends. They have yet to solve it. I see her mother on a daily basis and it's sad the parents have no closure. She did not deserve to die and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Im blessed I got to hear her voice one last time when she was getting her hair done on prom day. Not a day goes by I don't think about her, and I feel like their murder has been shoved under the rug!!!!

Tyrone is right, it is so frustrating when you are begging HPD to do something so you can give the families of the victims answers, all i have have gotten is "theres nothing we can do" BULLS--T!!!DO YOUR DAMN JOB!!!!! If something were to happen to one of their family members i bet it wouldnt be handled this way, maybe not, i dont think some of those detectives have a soul or a heart anyway.

The problem is no one is willing to give the HPD any leads or information they need. Everyone wants to enact their own vigilante justice and don't give the police a chance to do any different. That's why the violence escalates and why so much goes unsolved. The killers from prom years ago were and are known by many but not one has had the balls to tell the authorities. Everyone keeps waiting for someone else to get even.

When the ignorants quit protecting the killers the violence will die down and more murders will be solved. Until then just hope they don't get you or your loved ones because too many sit quietly out of fear.

Is this what HPD tells themselves? Did we suddenly wake up in Compton? Detroit? No we did not..However it is slowly getting that way..and it is not the peoples fault. Try harder, if the current staff are unable to do anything...fire them. Get some fresh perspectives in the HPD plz

Knowing what happened and proving in court beyond a shadow of a doubt what happened are 2 different things.

Megan should have picked a better love interest.

Just because the cases that are of interest to you haven't been solved to your satisfaction doesn't mean they aren't solving any cases.

She was a Poston from Guyandotte. Tragedy follows that family like light following dark. If she hadn't met up with her boyfriend in the wee hours of the morning after the prom then she and her date wouldn't have died. If she had made better choices perhaps he wouldn't have been in that place at that time.

Thats alot of ignorance to deal with. Blame the victim..for getting murdered..and not the murderer? Consider yourself ignored. You are a irrational idiot.

What is the ignorant part? She was a Poston? Dating the drug dealer? Being there in the early AM after the dance? Taking her date over there?

Which of those tags me as ignorant?

I haven't blamed her for her own death but better choices would have kept her out of that place at that time. Sorry you disagree but I don't really care. Lay down with the dogs you get up with fleas, if you get up at all.

Listen HPD caint solve a murder unless the person walks in and confesses and even then they probably tell person go home and not believe them
Like the time at westwood acres the guy commited suicide by beating his head against curb on street according to HPD which made that year the first year huntington had no murders what are the chances
No wonder crime keeps going up in huntington and charleston for that fact too
They more worried of prostitutes speeding tickets and bs
