So people in Huntington want another gay bar- umm. And all along I thought dance bars were in-guess not. So what other bars are "hip."

There are no good honkeytonks in the area, that o know of. There used to be. I'd like a place with rock and country jukebox, pool tables, and maybe some live music. There used to be some, but now they started playing rap music and catering to pill heads.

REALLY? Just because they have money makes them a snob? Maybe you should consider being nicer and making some friends, because the people that i know in there are my dearest friends and they are great people. And they never act like they are better than anyone. We have everyone from Veterans, to (yes) some very powerful people in the state come in. Be more open minded.

Be more open minded? Ha!
I walked in there with a group of friends, not being loud or obscene and as soon as we came in the door the handful of people in there said "oooOOoo" like "look what just walked in the door" (presumably because we were young). Mind you, we had never visited the bar before and thought we'd try it out. Needless to say we won't be coming back.

Anyone think a new bar would do any good in Huntington or are there too many already?

Bar ideas?

Location?

Looking to open a style no one around here has, just looking for good location and what people around here would like to see, but dont at the local bars.
Uh huh

If you're going to open a bar, please let it be a hookah bar. We already have gay bars, snooty bars, dive bars, and underage wastelands. Huntington needs a hookah bar.

NOT! Such a tiny place so it becomes elbow to elbow quickly with no room to get a drink at the bar. Plus who wants to get served by that nasty big girl they got working there.I've seen her spit in drinks before..wouldn't want that ho touching my glass because its hard to tell what she'd do to it and its difficult to tell where her hands have been.

Jockey Club is for snobs and it's tiny. If you want to go to an actual bar, with good service, and better drink selection - go next door to St. Marks.

What is the atmosphere like at the V Club? They have some decent musicians coming through and I'd love to stop in one night. Just wonder if it would be my thing. How crowded is it normally?

Thanks :)

The atmosphere is eclectic. You'll find everyone from regulars (older gents), to punk and metal fans, to good ole boys. I've always felt comfortable there. My wife and I like to go during the week for the various specials. It gets pretty crowded for bigger names/shows but in general it's not too bad.
