I was astounded to learn that my young friend Trevor Martin was turned down by Wendy's to return to work after basic training for the Army Reserves. Trevor is a wonderful young man with impecable credentials. The reason is he did not give a two week notice when he decided to join. Even though everyone in the place including the Manager knew he was going for training. Personally I will not go back to Wendy's. For those of you who know the Manager I would ask that you mention this to him. This young man has decided to join the Army Reserves and get training that will help him in the future. The thanks he gets is he doesn't get to return to his job at Wendy's. What kind of asshole would do that to a Army Reservists. By the way this Army Reservists recently adopted his Brother so he could better see to his education and care.

Shut the f*ck up. He's not a veteran. He went into training. It's his fault. All hiring contracts clearly state the policy on quitting and a designated time period expected to be given ahead of time.

Astounded? Do you mean astonished? Or appalled?

"Astounded (verb): to shock or greatly surprise."
Astonished and appalled are both synonyms of astounded. They all have the same meaning. Next time you try to correct someone, you might want to be correct yourself.

I would expect this from some service dodging asshole like you. That kid should have his job back and they should pay him while he's away. What do you think would happen if the newspapers picked up on this? He won't be a Veteran until he gets out. Right now he's on active duty. What a lowlife dummy.

I thought there was a law in WV that your employer had to give you your job back if you left for military training......

Wendy's is'nt a job, it's a fast food joint with little pay and no thanks. He should have went full time Army.
Yeah that was my suggestion too. The problem is he had to adopt him Brother. Here's a young man, taking care of his Brother, and he cant't retain a job at Wendy's because he didn't give them proper notice that he was going into military service. I've ran lots of jobs where you should remember good workers and try to help them when you can. The one thing I can say is "Shame on you Wendy's". Let's see how the newspaper feels about this. I'm waiting for the young man to come by so I can ask him his permission to notify the newspaper. Let's put Wendy's in print.

Tell him to take it to the Better Business Bureau. They'll say the same. It's "job abandonment" unless you put in a two weeks notice. Simply put.

You're right htownhero. It is simply put. That's why Sean the Manager waited until Trev filled out his application before he told him he couldn't hire him back because he didn't give a two week's notice. I just work here, but I can say Trev was a good worker and everyone in the building knew he was leaving, including Sean. On his best day Sean is hard to work for. On his worst he does things like this to employees and former employees. I think he has a cruel heart.

Not the job. The treatment. I'm sure he'll get educated. He's really a good kid. With that he now has new employment. I just choose to no longer patronize Wendy's. I know I won't make any difference but that's how I feel.

Must not have been a good worker or they would have wanted him back. Or maybe that's the problem. They wanted a pos to fit in with the rest that work there.

That's the worst Wendy's I've ever been to -- I'm sure he'll find better employment elsewhere. Every time I go there they screw up my order; even when it's something as simple as an order of fries. It doesn't surprise me that they screw over their employees as often as they do their customers.

Sean the manager is the biggest jerk to work for. I guess because his life sucks so bad he has to make it suck for the people who work for him. No one wants to work for the little f**k.
