Anyone in the office out front. You just have an app to fill out so they know who you are. But I always walk a caged dog so they can clean it's cage if it's messy. It's really fun volunteering there.

They don't put down after a time... I've been a volunteer for a year and there are a few dogs there that have been there 6-8 months that I walk...

They put animals to sleep when the shelter gets too crowded, when an animal is showing signs of being ill, if they believe an animal is feral, and, sometimes, if the animal is simply old......supposedly.

How could they be a no kill shelter? They are a public shelter ran by local government. They have no choice but to euthanize animals because they can't control how many they take in like little victory. Its a hard world and bad things happen. The only way to save the animals is for all pet owners to have their pets spayed and neutered. Now I don't like the people at the shelter and I think the people who run the place are nothing but good for nothing trash and idiots but I understand the true purpose the shelter serves which is to control animals not save them. That is why it is called an animal control shelter. I wish everyone would realize that and then maybe we could get something done about the aggressive animals running the streets.

Some employees up there act like they dont care about the animals they are only there for the paycheck. They need employees that actually care about the animals. They have plenty of space up there they could raise money and expand the building to make room so they can have more employees.

No kill is not hard to be. But, you have to want to be. I love how they want to tout they are animal control when they are put in the hot seat however the signs that lead to the shelter in the west end clearly state 'animal shelter', not animal control shelter.
