Hey! I'd love any input on the best places to hold a wedding reception in the tri-state area. Thanks in advance!

Im looking for the same advice. From what I hear there are only a few nice places in Huntington to hold a reception. And I know a girl that just booked the Big Sandy Superstore and it is crazzzzzy expensive.

There is a house on 6 th ave. Just before Speedway. In between 16 th and 13th at. It's supposed to be really nice. Can't remember the name it dis have it's own web site. Wished I could remember more. It might be worth the drive to see if it has a sign out front.

Heritage farm. It is awesome and reasonable. Unless your a debutante or something, would suit anyones needs..........

I doubt it's the best but I've seen several couples use the 4H camp. Probably reasonable price to rent it.

What is your reception budget? That will make it easier for people to suggest a reception venue. Do you want to have your own food brought in or catered by the venue? Do you want to have adult beverages at the reception?

I'm really not operating on a budget. Alcohol is a must and if the food the venue offers is good, I'd use the venue. I really like the idea of an indoor venue with outdoor space too.

I'm also having a hard time booking a reception hall. My wedding is going to be at the Ritter Park rose garden so I need something close that will accompany 100'ish people (including a dance floor) and allow alcohol. We want to do our own food because it will save us a lot of money... The main problem is that most of the places around here want you to use their own catering service.

I am going to be doing sone research this week, so will let you ladies know if I find anything!

The new Alumni Center at MU is very nice and would be a great location. Also, the student center at MU, the Keith Albee, the Palms and Heritage Farm. The food at the Civic Center is terrible (they make you use their caterer) but the location is convenient

Holy Spirit Orthodox Church has a beautiful hall. The last wedding I went to was there and so was the reception. I've never seen a more beautiful set-up.

Check into to the River Front Park but you have to go through Big Sandy Arena. The Red Cross does it every year and uses the inside facilities as a back up for rain. Catering is ok but is all you have as a resource. I dont think any outside catering is available. Worth a try.

Lavelette golf course country club. It's a great place. I had mine there at both my first two weddings. They have a bar, huge dining area. Dance floor, prewired for dj, etc.
