What The Heck Did You Just Eat?

On the "refined (ahem) PALATE" thread, someone pointed out that BK uses horse meat. Got me to thinking...
When I was a kid, it was legal to sell horse meat in groceries. I remember having it a few times (pretty lousy) and it had a taste you don't forget, for sure. Recently, I have eaten a few "beef" dishes that I KNOW are not beef, but horse, because I remember the taste.
I'm wondering if you younger people would know that you are eating horse meat in a restaurant if no one told you? Or would you just assume it was flavorless beef? And how would you feel about it?
