The young gentleman went there illegally.. he still lives in huntington and last year when he didn't want to go to midland he showed all of his former teamates the phone texts from salmons trying to talk him into playing football. So you can put salmons on a pedestal all you want, but reality is he will do anything to win. So threaten to vote out all the BOE all you want because they will just turn the truth over to the WVSSAC. I feel sorry for the young man because he will chose to suffer rascial slurs from cmhs students just to try and get recruited. If you don't believe me ask his sister who has teansfered back to hhs due to being called names.
A principal stalked a student. I find this unacceptable.

I find it hard to believe this principal "stocked" this young man. If you people believe verifying an address is stalking then you really need to learn the definition of stalking. Verifying a residential address does not qualify. Anytime a kid transfers the attendance director or school administration has the right to verify the guardians address especially if an athlete is involved, and especially if its knowledge that they were being recruited by that school.

Sounds like cmhs principal didn't do his or her job and verify this kid was legal when he enrolled at cmhs. So if anyone is to blame its not hhs principal for doing his job and verifying residency of a student athlete that told his friends salmons recruited him, but cmhs principal and attendance director for not doing theirs And making sure it was a legal and legitimate transfer.

Camping out with a video camera is stalking... "not stocking". The sending school has no requirements to verify ex-students.

Who cares? If the student was violating rules, he deserved to be found out.

So this kid transfers to midland last year. Correct? He goes to midland because of lack of enough playing time? Nothing is said until the season begins? We as people shouldn't care. This is an opportunity for a young man to get a chance to play ball and maybe go to college. Isn't that what we should be worried about? Instead of him playing against his old school, the one that didnt think he was good enough to get carries? I hope he plays and does well! Now instead of talking about how racist midland is, why is it that hhs trainer doesn't get along with the coaching staff, that has run off every black coach that has worked there? Branch, Felder, Phillips, Hopkins, are quality coaches! They know the real story but closed ears hear nothing.

So to he11 with rules! Scr3w the rules <insert sarcasm>. Don't the residency rules apply to everyone? I'd be upset if they let ANYONE by with rules violations. I'm glad they enforced it. I hope they catch more people doing this and punish them the same way. How can this even be called a punishment? It's not like he got suspended for breaking the rules. They are simply enforcing the rules yyet you people want to complain about it?

so does he live in midland district? Does his guardian. If his guardian lives in midland district and say just for arguments sake, she allows him to stay with someone in hhs district, he is still eligible to play. I heard he is eligible and good to go.

Yay for Donta, so glad he good to go and that his family showed the Principals, AD and Billy Seals that he was legal. My hopes are now Mr. Seals, Mr. Webb, Mr Archer and the AD are investigated now for all their illegal transfers. Those transfers need to be put through the ringer just like the Hendricks. Especially the wrestlers Grass, Childers, the Ripley and Parkersburg kids. Mr. Thacket does Midland reps. get to go on their home visits just like Mr. Webb and Archer got to go on the home visit for Donte. We are all waiting to hear what Seals and the AD Bruce has to say about their conversation with Mr. Sinclair, Midlands asst. principal, about spying on Midland and giving HHS Midlands plays. CHEATERS!!!!

I am also glad to hear that he is now legal and will get to play this season. He's a good kid and deserves to play. But, it's obvious that you have not read the WVSSAC rules or you would know that the wrestlers were legal. Also, obvious that you don't know much about football or you would know that midland will run their plays in their first few games and every other team they play later can watch film and know their plays. It's not what plays you run it's about how you execute them.

I'm way more concerned about the quality of academics at these schools if this is how their graduates spell and string sentences together.

Anyone can go to WVSSAC web site and read the rules for transfer. Basically, they say if you start in the ninth grade you are eligible to participate at that school for four years. If you start the ninth grade in a school and then transfer, you must either sit out of sports for 365 days, or your family /legal guardian must move into the district. It is not where the student lives, but where the family/guardian resides. These rules are in regards to sports participation.
The transfer cannot be for sports. How was it legal for a state champion wrestler from Ripley to move to HHS? Anyone think that move was not sports driven? I just don't like HHS crying foul when they are guilty of the same thing. Midland demonstrates more class. I live in Huntington and will root for Midland until the football coach and principal are removed.

<quoted text>Just the fact that you think the word is "principle" tells us that you are one of those morons who believe that "throwing a ball good" means one deserves a free ride to college. The culture of "sport scholarships" is one cause of so many colleges dumbing down curricula, leading to the devaluing of degrees for ALL who graduate from those schools.

You never hear anyone from this area making a fuss about more academic scholarship opportunities.

Stop whining about it. The kid broke the rules, and I have never known a group with a bigger sense of entitlement than the parents of student athletes. They may be worse than people who abuse the welfare system when it comes to "gimmee" and "you owe me".

Not everyone is college material. Until America faces this fact, colleges will continue morphing into moneylenders and we will not see a decline in 30 year old degreed baristas anytime soon.
Right on, Derp!!!
