I hate people who use the word "pop" in reference to soda. They should be popped in the mouth.

One of the first habits I broke after I left West Virginia in 1965 was stop using the word "pop". Not because I was ashamed but it seemed to get people snickering for some reason. I suppose because they weren't used to hearing it.

And I don't know how old I was before I realied that "yungons" wasn't an actualy word but short for "young ones".

But, all said and done, I lived in other states from 1965 until 2009 and never once did I hear anything negative about West Virginia. People, on hearing my accent, thought I was from Texas.

I agree with nimrod. Its the principal of being honest. I use to work fast food and people would say water and then go refill or fill with soda. Granted a 5 gallon syrup container for soda is only about 60.00 and probably triples its profits, its still the principal.

I think soda in general is ridiculous due to the cost versus content and calories. The only GOOD content in soda is caffeine and the rest is just chemicals and excess calories we don't need to consume. I rarely purchase soda. If its free, like where I work, I will drink it on occasion, but water is much better for everyone!

I agree with you. I used to be a soda drinker (diet only, full calorie was far too sweet) and three months ago I decided to stop drinking it. The caffeine headaches were bad until I found caffeinated water flavoring at the grocery store. Since stopping soda I look and feel 100x better!
