Wondering if anyone has lived here or know someone who has since the renovations and new management? I'm looking for an apartment while in school and the price is decent with all utilities included. Any advice or recommendations would be great

When I lived their it was The Upperclassman back in 2006 and I LOVED it!!! We lived on the 2ND floor and us and our neighbors would play tag your it with each others doors and we would invite all 13 neighbors over and cook tacos and make cookies and stuff. Good times! I miss it but the apt's are small but some of the people there make it a great experience. I don't know if its like that now though. The game room, pool, and restaurant was great when we we're there and everyone was super friendly. Sorry I couldn't help ya. But good luck!

DO NOT RENT THERE OR ANY OTHER PROPERTIES THAT THEY OWN/RENT! Terrible once you have signed on the dotted line and WILL SCREW YOU ON GETTING DAMAGE DEPOSIT BACK! I'm a parent, went to try and discuss with Mgt and was told flat out "I don't care". Exact words!! Very very very upset that they are doing this to college students! Underhanded and sneeky!!

Love this place! My only complaint is the internet but they told me the system was new and spotty in some areas but I worked mostly out of the library. When I lived there the rent was $450.00 and they had just bought the building and were renovating the lobby. The staff was great especially Chico the maintences guy, he gives you his cell phone number if you need anything. Alan was the manager then but I did my lease with Doug who took his place. The apartments are small but they definately try to make you feel welcome and safe. You have to have a key to come in and there is almost always someone around if you need help. I have moved into a couple different apartments since living there and now I relize how much easier it is just paying one bill. Now I have 5-rent, electric, water, gas, cable/internet, garbage.

TOTALLY RENT THERE!!! THEY ARE SUPER NICE!!! M Harr must have done something wrong. I lived there a year ago durring the fall and summer and had my deposit back to me within 15 days. They charged me for not cleaning my carpet and not returning my mail box key but that was it. I pretty much got everything back. I ended up moving into one of Big Green's apartments with a friend for my last year of school and I never got my deposit back. I called and called and called and finaly talked to chris and he told me it wasn't his problem.

This place is great. Moved from the dorms to the flats to a one bedroom. Then I graduated and my wife and I moved to California. My deposit came late but I got it back. They are some of the fairest people I know.

Love this place when I lived there! It's a great way to start a life off campus.

It might depend on what apartment you get, but in mine the internet was basically unusable, and the cable tv was grainy and barely came in. The entire building is on one package, so you don't have the option to upgrade to a better cable or internet package. My internet was barely better than dialup most of the time I lived there, making it impossible to do schoolwork or play games online, etc. Even browsing the web was a chore.

Loved the place! Doug is great. He worked with me when my student loan didn't come in and helped me find a job on campus. The internet does suck but they told me that before I rented there. I got my deposit back minus 50 dollars for carpet cleaning.

WORST COMPLEX EVER! Its just an old hotel from the 70's. ALL utilities are supposed to be included in the price, but the internet has not worked in 3 months and it still does not. The landlords are rude and wont give you any information or answer any of your questions. This place is disgusting and no one should ever live here. Theres roaches and leaks, the mattress is gross, and there are wholes in the walls. The maintenance men are creepy, not to mention they never have anything done within the time they tell you they'll have it done, The health department definitely needs to check this place out. The pool has paint chipping off of it, people smoke in the apartment so the hallways always smell like cigarettes, the coke machines always take your money and so does the laundry room, which is always flooded. DONT SIGN THEIR LEASE.

It's not a bad place if you get good neighbors. My neighbors were always loud and when I asked them to quiet down, they basically told me to go away. The walls are very thin so you can hear anything from neighbors. For 6 months the cable and internet both were horrible but ended up being okay later. Maintenance takes forever to respond to any problems. The bathtub in my room was disgusting and I was forced to only take showers. People smoke cigarettes and weed in their rooms that stink up the hallways constantly. I mean the place has a sign in the lobby that says "Sorry for the mess, we are currently in our renovating process". The whole year I lived there, I didn't see one thing they were renovating. It seems like a great place at first but after a few months things will really start to irritate you.

Yes, I've lived there last year and it's not what it seems to be.. it's actually filthy. When it rains drastically the ceiling caves in allowing the rain to pour through. Everything in the gym is out dated and in fact, the rain also escape through the ceiling of the lower level, that's where the gym is located and it filled the air with a musky smell, I wouldn't doubt if there's mold present there. I used to get paranoid doing a cardio work out in the gym because I was scared of inhaling what was in the air. There's no a/c, windows, or air of any sort in the gym and remind you this was dead smack in the summer. I thought places like these could get sued if it was hazardous to people's health. The newly remodeled rooms are nice but the place contains bugs..filthy

Absolutely the worst, and I've lived in pretty much every "student" apartment complex during my embarrassingly long college career. The only good thing I can say is the lump sum with utilities is convenient. Other than that, the place is filthy. I complained about people smoking in the hallways (which is illegal) and they just said they can't stop everyone. The place is absolutely NOT secure, the door by the back lot is always unlocked/wedged open. My wallpaper was peeling, had random holes in the walls that were never fixed. The best part was my shower. Something in the faucet broke and my shower constantly leaked hot steamy water which turned my apartment into a sauna. This went on for over two months and I had [email protected] mold growing on my furniture. I had to finally threaten to call the health department before they did anything. My liqueur also disappeared after Chico was in my room. And thier electronic card system would lock me out of my room every month even though my rent was paid. I was in the back of the forth floor so after coming back from class and hiking all the way there, I had to hike down to the desk so that the girl there could roll her eyes at the big inconvenience I was putting her through of TRING TO GET INTO MY OWN [email protected] ROOM. Seriously that place is SH!T and I hope anyone reading this thinks twice before signing. I would even recommend the @ssholes at the village over this place and that is saying something.

Is the internet really bad at the flats?
I was told to buy my own box from Comcast and it would be fine

Do not rent here for the love of all that is holy do not rent here. It has gotten really bad especially since the fire in april 2016. The carpets have not been replaced, the lobby is still a wreck and almost none of the laundry facilities still work. It is over priced the included furniture is disgusting. The "hardwood floors" are more like a cheap laminate that they will charge you extra for but they look like they have been run over by a truck. Don't waste your time and money look anywhere else really anywhere else. You can do better for the money and still be closer to campus or closer to downtown if you need to be. Where may have been advantages before are broken down or breaking. Just stay far far away
