Why is it so hard for anyone to believe or see that if the American people give up their guns then you might as well give up the rest of your rights. Because if you do give up your guns what's really to stop them from doing away with the constitution altogether. There won't be much force to oppose them. Why do you think it's right for us to not own guns but the president can be protected by hundreds of these weapons. His life is no more important than mine. I guess in your perfect world crimes don't happen and all criminals obey the laws. If someone breaks into your home what's going to protect you, the phone and hoping the police get there if they even do or the gun lying there ready to be used? I'm sure we can start a charity and collect money to buy anti-gunnies plane tickets to live overseas. I'm sure these other countries would love your commie views.

What's the difference between anti gun people and gun owners? When some one breaks into an anti owners house they grab the phone, hide in closet, prey to god hpd gets there before the intruder finds their kids room or them. An owner grabs his 45 and blows the pos back out the door he came in while his wife is on the phone with 911 and kids still in bed safe

Maybe because you're wrong. You're more likely to accidentally shoot yourself or a family member than someone breaking into your home.

Someone that doesn't know how to shoot may accidentally shoot themselves or someone else that isn't an intruder. I can guarantee though that I wouldn't hit someone not intended to be hit. I've owned and shot guns since I was 3 years old.

Where in the hell are you getting your statistics? Accidental shootings/ home break ins. Its not even close! While accidental shootings are in the thousands, home burglaries are in the millions. If you're gonna try to have a valid argument, at least get some facts together.

Where do you get your information from? You're probably against guns and want to think you know what you're talking about. I highly doubt thats the case though. I do know I could hit a person and not hit someone I don't want to shoot. You would really have to be a bad shot to accidentally shoot someone or just be a total idiot. I have 22 years in shooting experience and with guns. Most accidental shootings happen because people are idiots and don't know the proper ways to handle a gun.

Or if you think your home is being burglarized and it turns out to be a family member. It happens. Along with a lot of other accidents and mishaps that can happen with any dangerous instrument. Guns are designed to kill. It's strange that people don't expect them to do that.

I love how people so educated can be so blind and ignorant. You bunch of "ban everything nut cases are the one who need your heads examined first.
You aren't going to take anyone's guns away and not only is the United States Constitution against you but, simply talking about it has created a black market for "Sporting Rifles" and ammo. Assault Weapons have been banned in the U.S. since 1986 and most of you wouldn't know a real "assault rifle" if you got shot with one.
We have the Constitutional Right to bear arms and when you try to take that away, you become the threat that we were given the right to take up arms against.
The problem is with how guns are registered and who can obtain them, not with the weapons themselves.
When someone purchases a gun, it is registered in their name but, once it walks out the door, there is no way if knowing what hands it passes through or where it ends up.
The solution to the problem is to do what we have been doing with automobiles for years and actually works. In order to own a firearm, you should have to pass a background check and psych exam and obtain a Firearms License the same as you obtain a drivers license to operate an automobile.
Every gun should be issued a title and registration card and be required to be registered to the new owner whenever it is sold or traded.
If you don't have your firearms license and you get caught with a firearm then, your weapon would be confiscated and you go to jail. If you get caught with a weapon and don't have a valid title and registration then, your weapon gets confiscated and you go to jail.
That would put every gun being toted by gang bangers and criminals up for legal confiscation immediately without shredding the Constitution or taking away the rights of law abiding citizens.

Heads up Ace. The President's life IS more important than yours. That's why there is so much effort and money expended to try to protect him from harm. Whoever holds the office is the most powerful person in the world. I'm betting you don't even come close to having that kind of responsibility.

Couple issues with you ramble...
1. The U.S. Government doesn't "want your guns" and any thoughts like that are based on paranoia and propaganda.
2. You think you or I or even a US Senator is as important as the President of the United States. Hate to burst your bubble but were not. Period. So get over it.
3.Do away with the Constitution???Really???

His life may be more important than yours but not mine. His role in office can be replaced by millions of people. Yet he wants a ban on assault rifles but wants to be protected by them kind of ironic if you ask me.

Kind of find it funny that even as the President is talking about doing away with guns his wife is surrounded with ARMED guards 24/7 and when his children go to school (yes in a SCHOOL) the school is guarded by wow - ARMED guards.
