I ate there for my birthday and thought it was good. The service was a little slow, and could have been nicer. It was a little pricey for an every day dinner, but would be great for a special occasion.

I had the BEST piece of chocolate cake I have EVER tasted there about a month ago! Worth every dollar just for the cake!!

The place isn't that good and definitely not worth the money. Prices are a good 25-30% higher that Savannah's or Huntington Prime and the food isn't any better nor is the presentation or service.

It's a shame that a place that had such potential has turned so bad. Every time I went there it was less busy than the time before. The staff seem to always be bickering among themselves and absolutely do not work well together. Of the original four chefs they started with not even a year ago only one remains and the best two were the first to go. I shows in the preparing, plating, and presentation of the food as well as in the menu itself, which by the way is merely a guide to what they may have because they seem to always be out of one or more of the items listed. All in all a huge let down from a place I had high hopes for.

Things were definitely much better with the original lineup. Billy and Chris brought a different feel to the place. I also miss Jimbo. It's like they decided to tighten up the staff into a stern bunch that are always grouchy and short with everyone. The latest addition, a hippie desert lady with dirty dred locked hair that is far from sanitary in every way. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Huntington Prime is looking better every day.

If the food tasted as good as it looks it would be ok. They seem to put all there time in to making the dishes look good and no time making them taste good. I tried it twice and won't again. And what's up with that angry light skinned black girl? She waited on us both times and was rude and acted like she hated being there.

That cake was made by a lady who bakes superb cakes as a side hobby. Look her up on Facebook. "All Ocassion Cakes By Angie"

A new flavor is coming to town. "Christopher's" is opening up in the barboursville plaza next to Absolute Fitness mid January. Trust me. You'll get the taste your asking for

Awesome! By Christopher's I assume your speaking of Chris Conley. I hope so and if so I wish him all the best. It'll be nice to have a nice place that is CHEF run and not held to the combines of an uneducated owner.

I never get on here, but got messaged on FB that my named got dropped, Just checking It wasn't some crazy bullshit. I appreciate The Compliment, But It's Chef Chis Dixon (Florida Native) With a Kitchen Manager from Louisiana. Plus, yes, I'm on the kitchen roster. So. Yeah, all of our styles combined are going to unleash a brand new food experience to Huntington. But honestly I would like to stay out of all The Bistro bashing. I hold no bad blood with them and wish them the best. And although there are a few people there I don't care for, there are a good majority of the staff that I still keep in contact and continue friendships with.

And to add one thing, I know a lot of the things said on this thread that have been removed. I do know all the facts from before the Bistro was even open until the first week of October, but please do not ask me to validate or falsify any of then. As I said in the last post, I do Not want to particpate in any of the trash talk and will take my good, bad, and ugly truths to my grave.

As a self acclaimed food critic and retiree with a surplus of expendable funds, I find myself compelled to join in this squabble. I have entertained my wife and myself to fantastic dining over much of the last seven years since my retirement as a union ironworker.
I know nothing of the innerworkings that a business such as Chef Jason's Bistro must endure to stay alive in such a dwindling location and economy. I must say that I am shocked that it still stands. I have dined in some of the most exquisite and world renowned restaurants across the united states and several throughout Europe, as well as cruise ships and the carribean.
Chef Jason prepares some of the most delicious meals that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I thoroughly enjoy any trip to the Huntington area, solely based on the fact that I can treat myself to the pleasures of dining at Jasons Bistro. The well designed placement and art of the food is not so much a focus of mine as is the unbelievable taste that Chef Jason creates, from the smell to the taste, as well as the over abundant portions. I loved his work at Club 21, and most definately enjoy a place that carries his name. Chef Jason is a hardworking, kind man, who carries a personal touch with all he does when it comes to fantastic dining. The Huntington area as a whole is a very unpleasurable experience for myself and my wife. Drugs, Beggars, Rude and Inconsiderate people who for the most part are very un-educated. Chef Jason and his bistro are a light among the crater that is the city where it resides. Chef Jason's bistro is a pleasant dining experience that deserves a place among the Vegas strip, it rivals the food at half the price. To all of the nay-sayers... I challenge you to visit his restaurant, but that would mean you might spend a little more money than a Wendy's drive-thru.

I've eaten their on many occasions. Never twice has my meal been the same. Their is skill in the chef's work, but his assistants are horrible and he hardly ever does his own cooking. The menu is very drab and the atmosphere not what I expect from a fine dining establishment. Service is either superb or inadequate. I've had visits whrre the Chef himself prepared the food and the thin short haired lady attended our table and it was amazing. Then I've had other visits fhat were horrible.

I am amused when i see people attempt low blows like that. who gives a damn what the man does in his free time. foods good and jason is too nice of a guy to tell a leech such as yourself where to go. I assume your one of the many he welcomed in and like so many you took advantage of him. jason knows no stranger that's for sure but among the bad, there are some good. Myself and some others are tired of seeing it and hearing it.

The fact that you felt the need to return so swiftly tells me you have some deep seeded personal vendetta against the man. I have a couple questions, if he is such a habitual drunk driver then why has law enforcement not taken appropriate action? Downtown Huntington is crawling with police officers these days. I am pretty sure they are trained on what to look for. Secondly, since you want things on a personal level. Why were you at Roosters anyway, I am sure you were treating yourself to a nice cold icewater. The original question was about the bistro, not one's personal life. Why don't you get one as a matter of fact, and stop trying so desperately to involve yourself in others.

I don't know this guy but I know one thing. I would beflipping out if my business or personal anything generated this kind of buzz. I think its awesome. All I know from what I read is he is smokin hot, kind, and likes to party, so I'm guessing he isnt 70 like most owners. His food is good, not his help which is not taking anything away from him. Huntington suxxxxx! He sounds kind of like a rockstar! Go Jason! I'll come eat there some day, I am just a 19 year old marshall student with no moniez. Hook a girl up!

I think you have it the other way around. Chef Jason is completely full of it and will tell anyone what they want to hear as long as he thinks he's getting ahead. I understand the world is dog eat dog, but that man goes out of his way to backstab whenever he thinks he will benefit. His friends, wife, employees, whoever! They all know its true, it's just easier to look away.

Let's get a round of applause for Mr. Matt Stickler. Bet he's setting at home now with his cell phone in a holster waiting to quick draw if Pam calls or text. Dirty man hiding behind being a supposed pastor. Bet this guy doesn't sleep at night. Hope people read this quick. He apparently has Topix on speed dial. Anything posted that he doesn't approve of gets deleted in mere moments. Hope you sleep well Matt. The people you mess over on the Abrahams behalf sure can't.

Topix does come with a set of rules and policy. I applaud the man for forcing the bottom feeding scum of Huntington from posting their lies and garbage . Also, your in no place to attack a man's religious beliefs. More power to him.
