It's a benefit for a non profit that provides free or low cost medical care to people in need, and you want to gossip and snipe about their choice of fundraising and who participates? Wow, a new topix low! Congrats for making the rest of us feel good about ourselves!

What was with that opening number? 20 3/4ths naked girls squatting on chairs and gyrating on the floor like their g-strings were made of barbed wire coated with itching powder.
I thought Ebenezer was a religious outreach program. I am sure the executive director did not see the opening number before it appeared. I also do not believe the board would have approved of it either.
I understand the concept, named after the television show, and how they tried to cash in on the name recognition of the tv program. While yes, I do believe that some of the "stars" are there for ego boosts, I believe other people actually volunteered just to have a good time, and to help a local charity raise some funds.
If anything in the event was rigged, it was the guy from the arena winning his category. It was definitely evident by the sound of chirping crickets when they asked for applause after he "danced", that it was a pass for him since he was the manager of the facility. Which, I wonder, if it was donated for the evening as a charitable contribution, or if Ebenezer had to pay for it.
But back to my original comment, I looked around at the crowd while the girls of the opening number were, to borrow a phrase I heard at Starbucks, "Swiffering the floor with their taints". All I saw was tongues hanging out of the mouths of the men and the uvula's of the women who were gasping for air.
Very unclassy, unprofessional, undancing,..... unbelievable.

Yvonne Jones Was aware of everything that was going wrong with this event. ANd she backed every bit of the wrong doing 100 percent. She even snickered when people threatened to take it to the board as if she isn't scared of them either. This whole company is a joke. The board over this or the united way which is over the whole thing. Need to do something with these people they are allowing to manage this care facility. I feel like there is more underhanded stuff going on there if this lil of a thing can get so out of control and be so morally wrong in every way this company is supposed to stand for.

Soooo.... I'm pretty sure by reading these ridiculous posts that were brought to my attention that the person starting this silly banter is probably the dejected (Star) that got thrown out of the event. As I read the posts I laughed to myself thinking that most of the people detracting from this great event couldn't (or wouldn't) get off of their sad topix addicted asses to raise $25 for someone else let alone $25,000! As much as you'd like to believe it no one is going to ruffle a single feather at EMO because a pissed off cheerleading dancing queen didn't get to take a spin in his tutu. C'mon Ralphie you are starting to embarrass yourself kid.

. The opening number was disgusting for a fundraiser for a religious based charity. There were even people leaving before the competition began. I'll stay home this year and donate my money to the city mission instead.

Bottom line is that this event is for hotsy totsy trolls that think they are celebs. It is merely an excuse to "perform" in front of a group and get plenty of media coverage. This inflates their already ample egos regardless of how inept they look because they are essentially grandiose. I wouldn't walk across the street to watch this tripe.

. I agree Jim. I remember when anyone who wanted to give to a charity just wrote a check and mailed it. Now these charities feel like they have to throw these over rated parties for these people who go to every event just to be seen. Why would any charity spend more on a party than they receive in donations. I not talking about this dancing with the tri state wanna be stars (this is the first time I have heard of this event) but other charities in Huntington. I know of one charity that had a BBQ over the summer and spent $6000 to throw the party and only received $3200 in donations. My neighbor went and told me that some people who went that has are so what wealthy ate/drank about $25 worth but only donated $5.

ok first and foremost obviously you don't know me cause I'm nt one that hides from confrontation ill bring it str8 to your fn face. Either people can back up their actions or prepare to deal with what i have to say or do thats what they get for provoking me. This event was supposed to be a charity fundraising event for a good cause. Its a shame that everyone i had to deal with which I didn't talk to them until five days before the show and i was avoided from the girl organizing the event. couldn't even respond to an email cause she was producing the nicoles day of dance in huntington. Who cares its not supposed to be all about her. I was allowed to be kicked out of the competition by my partner four days before. and was not allowed to get my own partner like she was and compete because she didn't want me to be able to compete and i was told by the director of emo herself that nicole could do whatever she wanted cause her father purchased a table.. or two.. so I'm guessing two thousand dollars now a days lets you run an event like its yours. They were so stuck on making her happy they turned down money that would have went to this charity. I know of at least 2500 they didn't get towards it. I volunteered my time and money to drive back and forth to practice three days a week with a never happy with any effort put forth partner. And with the her old dance teacher our choreographer and happened to be one of the judges over the whole thing coaching us thru the entire time. I got pushed out of this competition by plain ol high school mean girl bullshit after being her third partner just for this years show. Obviousy there is a problem if someone ends up having four partners by the time of the show. I was not allowed to compete in it because the day after i was made to drive to lancaster ohio near columbus ohio to practice which i was late for. But who cares I'm not on strict rules of having to drive all the way up there to where the judge has a gym we were allowed to use to practice for seven hours!!!! since i didn't get there in time we practiced when i finally got there then they decided i had to stay the night and practice in the morning. Then the next day another seven hour practice was scheduled. So they decided they were going to proceed to tell me exactly what i was going to do this day that day and this day and i simply told them i was not lettin the boss me around anymore and that they were not my parents. So angry nicole who couldn't handle being told someone wasn't going to do exactly what she wants them to do stormed out and thats that. Ridiculous she was then allowed to bring in a dancer to compete which the judge set up for her. So I think this either needs to be a competition or it needs to be a fun charity event where crazy favoritism shouldn't be displayed should probably leave it at home.
BIgdaddy you say I'm a cheerleading queen. you must be a tranny cause from the way you type i can't tell if you are a girl or a guy. I came into this show to simply do what its supposed to be u put together a dance and go perform it to help raise money for a good cause. I would love to witness how people are treated by those i had to deal with. I found yvonnes snootiness humoring. poor patients i hope she can tone it down for them.

Truth is truth is all I've got to say everything he stated in that above is precisely how it all went down. Very sad way to do the volunteers who not only volunteered to dance to raise money, but also put in all of their time and money to practice. Sad that people's descions on a fundraising event as such can be so wrongly made.

Moron, you should be ashamed for bragging about actions made by such childish women.
Laugh all you want emo may not ruffle their oversized wide loads. But atleast those who donate time and money now know. I heard with my own ears their lil star laugh at all of the women including her good friend ashley. Im 100 percwnt sure the words were "thats the social-lites club of huntington. thats all the girls who want to lretend their rich and be known" and as far as emo office side of the business.. Rude, nasty acting people= taking care of less fortunate people who can't afford health care. Something dont sound right to me. Emo is owned and part of united way I do believe.
