Anyone ever shopped with these guys or even heard of em? Went in with about a grand to spend on a new firearm. I was pretty much made to feel like if I didn't have a couple more I wasn't worth their time.

Herd and backwoods are just alike. I dont like either shop myself both are rude unprofessional and high priced they think god gave them all the guns for themselves. J&J pawn will get you what you want.

I agree. Definitely nothing like what the original poster is trying to imply.

not implying anything. Just stating my experience. I've spoken to a few people with the same story since. I actually shopped around quite a bit since the post and found budsgunshop online. After a trip to Lexington I found the most professional and knowledgeable staff on earth. I think a few of these gun shops here local let their floor planned inventory go to their head. Sad but I'll be shopping outta state from now on.

Atleast you found a place that you enjoy going to to buy. Besides shooting the buying experience is the most important part of it all. Enjoy.

You went to Bud's in Lexington? You might want to not bash our local gun shops as they have to ship the firearm to a FFL dealer here in West Virginia unless you live in Kentucky. Might be hard for you to get someone to do that after you bash them. Also, I have dealt with Herd Tactical and have never had any issues with them and neither has my family. Classic has always been good also. J&J is a joke with prices vs. quality and knowledge. One last thing, my son lives in Kentucky and has dealt with Bud's before, hope you do not have any issues with the purchase or the firearm, you will see the true "Bud's" - Just Saying

They have to ship handguns to a dealer over here but not long-guns (or rifles). So you can buy a firearm in Ky. And those mom and pop gunshops will stay in business about three yrs. and then they are done. You have to sell a certain amount of guns per year or you can kiss your liscense goodby, and they usually cant keep up. Then you have the hassle of keeping the records for like 20 yrs. or so. And you dont have to go to Lexington just go to Borders in Ashland, they have plenty in stock.

I purchased a used daniels defense AR so I didn't have to worry about some local yocal. Local gun shops are a joke around here even borders. And I will tell em to their face if I ever pick up a pistol that I would rather deal with someone out of state than them.

You probably will not have to worry about that. They do not HAVE to accept someone hipping in to them and they have the right to charge what ever they want to for the transfer. Good luck with your USED AR. Someone traded it in for a reason and as stated before - hope you do not have any trouble and expect for Buds to help you - Just Saying

I was only in HT once and the guy behind the counter was nice and helpful. I usually shop at Classic Gun and Pawn on rt 60, they are good guys ad are willing to work with you to find what you want. The only place I tell people not to shop for firearms or ammo is Dicks at the mall. Those kids behind the counter are not only rude but have no idea what they doing.

They are rude at a store named Dick's, go figure. Anyways, jokes aside, good deals at Dick's if you know what you're looking for, otherwise go somewhere knowledgeable and pay for that premium.
