Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God." (2 Peter 20-21 NAB) So......“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) Clearly the Old Testament is to be abided by until the end of human existence itself. None other then Jesus said so. Based on that..... You must kill those who worship another god. Exodus 22:20 Kill any friends or family that worship a god that is different than your own. Deuteronomy 13:6-10 Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find people that worship differently than you. Deuteronomy 13:12-16 Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7 Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest. Deuteronomy 17:12-13 Kill any false prophets. Deuteronomy 18:20 Any city that doesn’t receive the followers of Jesus will be destroyed in a manner even more savage than that of Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 6:11 Jude reminds us that God destroys. those who don’t believe in him. Jude 5. So come kill me. Its the word of God.

and I mean like minded, as in the ability to debate this issue of religion without slinging insults at each other, or making it personal and for that I thank you both.

I interpret this differently based on context.

Jesus is delivering his famous Sermon on the Mount. This occurred early in his ministry. It is a specific message to a specific audience and deals with the law (aka Torah). Jewish authorities at the time were altering the meaning of the Torah and the Temple was more about making money than worshiping God. There are many churches today like that as well.

The key quote is "until all is accomplished." In the Biblical quotations above I showed that Jesus felt it "all [was] accomplished" upon his death on the cross.(i.e. "It is finished - John 19:30). Between the Sermon on the Mount and the crucifixion, the Mosaic Covenant was still law.

Hebrews 8:7 - "For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second."

Verse 12 goes on to state: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds. I will remember no more."

I believe this sets aside any orders to stone another to death for homosexuality, etc. That was part of the Mosaic Covenant.

Various covenants include the Edenic, the Adamic, the Noahic, etc.

"First Covenant" above refers to the first covenant with the Israelites (Mosaic), not with man kind (Adamic).

By starting this thread I meant to engage those who view the Old Testament as the Old Covenant, and then use that view in spewing hatred for homosexuals and others they disagree with. Those people would never suggest that divorcees are bound for hell, because too many of their friends or family may be hellbound as well.

. I feel using a religion that talks of peace, then spinning it to spew hate is as low as it gets morally. But you bring some very well rounded knowledge to the table, i will leave you to your thread. Sir or mam.

Sounds to me like Lot fled the town because he knew the townspeople were wanting to have sex with his daughters and he did this to protect them. Just like in todays society, we have alot of sexual deviants like "the gays" and he was doing what every good father should do, protect his family. But that's just one weak minded Christians perspective. Fortunately, lots of morons are able to read and interpret for themselves (even athiests who have their own spin). As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, not the world. My home is not here.
So...Lot f&$& his daughters for their own protection??
Hope that one isn't used in a courtroom...

Isn't that the truth. You try to even discuss religion with some people and they're ready to kill.
It's always struck me as ludicrous when you hear people talk about how the Muslims are wanting to kill us because we're not like them and how murder is wrong, however those same people will say that they have no pity when abortion Docs are killed.

I have nothing against religion, but I do have a problem with so called religious people being totally intolerant.

Jesus being nailed to the Cross did away with those "other" (as you call them) laws.
.
But homosexuality is forbidden - in Romans which is in the New Testament.
.
Read your Bible, my friend.

The bible and your white Jesus is fake! Caucasians completely plagiarized Christianity from the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. It was a way for them to manipulate blacks by stripping us of our culture and language. Whites have used this so-called bible to gain land and riches. Wait until blacks and other races wake the hell up...it won't be pretty :)

I assume your referring to a race war? You wouldnt stand a chance in hell.First off you're outnumbered 150 million to 40 million.Secondly the white man is the master of warfare.Thirdly, he's the one that owns the companies that make war munitions.Fourthly,he's the mastermind behind these weapons of technologial terror. So while you're putting a cap in the white mans ass with your little 38 special(which incidently was manufactured by the white man) he's busy dropping missles in your shitty ghetto as well as crushing your fire trap little cribs with his abram tanks.Stupid sob.

Jesus says the greatest law is love. Above all LOVE.

When people made an attempt to hate because someone sinned differently than they, he said let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone.

There is one judge and it's not humankind. Forget judging and let's love.

Old Testament is one of the main reasons I believe religion is bs. I know god himself didn't rewrite the bible. Therefore man decided to changed this so called gods laws.

The myths are very similar. Resurrection, king of the afterlife, etc...
Osiris being 1200 years before Jesus suggests that Jesus was a copycat.
But osiris was a mythical god wannabe that nobody laid eyes on.Jesus was witnessed by many as well as his miracles, resurrection, crucifix tion, resurrection, ascension,re appearrence on pentacost. And for good measure the romans who crucified him ended up basing a belief system on someone you say is a myth? They must've had some record of it then. And its kinda ironic that not only did he fulfill old testament prophesies conserning his place of birth but also his scourging, bones not being broken upon his death, his water(plasma) mixing with his blood at his death, etc. And if thats not all then over 80 prophesies out of 130 already have been fulfilled with the rest concerning his 2nd coming.Thats a pretty good rate.Over 100% thus far.

LoL. If you believe those "eyewitness" accounts then I have some oceanfront property out Wayne you can buy. You have Jesus' medical records? Can we take a peek at his autopsy and verify your claims of fulfilled prophecy?
Osiris started as a human being also. Just like your Jesus he died and was resurrected as a god. I'm sure there were eyewitness accounts of his miracles as well.
For that matter did any historic figure exist? I've not seen any more eyewitness accounts regarding any other human anymore than those regarding Christ. And as for prophesy the fact that these were written hundreds of yrs before they were fulfilled down to the dotted i's and crossed t's makes all the more believable. Since you're the scholarly man im surprised you'd base your rejections on something you've not researched such as these biblical prophesies. I realize you're sold on evolution and i on creation but what if we're both wrong. What if god and Christ are real and evolution is part of his creation process? I lose nothing.
