I hope they do and those use abuse drugs do get it and if you loose it because you're a dopehead then I hope they take it away from you. Living the wrong lifestyle to get high should be punished.

Funny.. when they started drug testing for welfare in Florida, hardly anyone tested positive and even MORE tax money went down the drain.

This seems to imply that hardly any of the FL welfare recipients have a drug problem. If you would have just done a little research (I know, you get side-tracked easily when you're smokin' weed), you would know that the law only requires NEW APPLICANTS FOR TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE to test. All of the life-long, government-dependent wastes of oxygen are exempt from this.

I think they should just do random drug testing for adults on welfare. I also think they should be required to put in some sort of work. You ever drive through the projects and see a bunch of lazy-asses sitting around on the porch blasting horrible music while a crew of hard-working Americans are busy cutting their grass and cleaning out the gutters? I'd like to go punch em all right in the nose, lol!

Uh, oh. Looks like my last post (see above) maybe struck a nerve here. I guess one of those lazy asses has their gov't provided laptop on the front porch of their gov't provided apartment. Are you pissed off because you ran out of weed? lol

I think they should drug test. Sad thing is that most of the druggies aren't even getting welfare checks. When they put the 5 year limit on welfare all the druggies ran to Prestera and now they all get nut checks because they are "Bipolar". This town is infested with people who do nothing other than sit around and wait on their porches higher than hell. They sit outside all day long and don't even bother to feed their children until 9 or 10 at night. They sale what foodstamps and then before you know it they are signing up all their kids for nut checks because they are "ADHD".
Point is I doubt the government will ever get these people to take care of themselves, it has been made way to easy for them to sit home.

I think that they should drug test people who get assistance from the welfare office if they are not employed or in school. As for the wic, I do think drug testing sounds nice, but to punish the children of a failed parents drug test is only hurting the children, not the parent.

How does it make it ok to be employed or in school to test positive for a drug test? That's what you're saying...right? I have never received welfare nor do I appreciate for someone to sit at home and reap the rewards of my hard work! It's way to easy to lay down and have a child or children that you say you care about so you can receive food stamps, hud to pay rent and a medical card for insurance! The system sets people up way too simple! I'm a mgr at a major fast food restaurant and I work my tush off and deal with way to much bs to let people reap the rewards for simply laying on their backs! I'm so sick of it! Have respect for yourselves and get a job! Shit happens and life goes on! There is noone to blame but yourself! Welfare is supposed to be a rehabilitating program not a habilitating program! Just ssying!

Alcohol and drug abuse IS a Disease. Tons of people suffer from this EVERYDAY! Addiction is more common being hereditary verses the typical "I'm a teen and need to smoke to be awesome" case. Everyone experiments in whatever fancies them. Only ones with this disease can't stop.(Internet, sex, being a dick').
Call it a wuss, but some people have extreme emotional pain that dealing with at the time is to over whelming.
H-Native. Are you against all drugs? like prescriptions as well?
FYI-Doctors make addicts everyday.
Doctors, hospitals, MEDS, INSURANCE. Etc Is expensive. Some people are trying "home remedies". FDA approved drugs being sold more often then homeboys tub of crack?
I don't think this is intended to neglect the "dopeheads" but to offer FULL wellness and not just some snacks. NO IM NOT a "dopehead". But I do have hereditary jeans, I live with physical and emotional pain, and my wallet is empty. I commend people for taking the step and asking for help.
People need to be compassionate with ALL walks of life.
Even if its not your walk, be open and who knows you might learn something..:l

YEah my $15 dollars a month in foodstamps that i share with my 4 yr old daughter is just robbing ya'll blind. My income this year so far is at $4,000.
WHY?? Because the state loses my paperwork in the mail. Cause they didnt hear me right when I said a billion times "I LOST that job over 6 MONTHS ago". When they heard $700 A month in child support when i said $200. When sharing 40 cents a day with a baby, three meals, IN AMERICA!! is REAPING the REWARDS then you know you gotta go feed another country. I hate the system. I hate that I have to suck it up, stand in line, and be treated like a free loader.. Sorry not EVERYONE asking for help comes from the best hand of cards. FEEDING MY AMERICAN BABY IS A SCAM!!!!! FEED another country!!
Truth be told

Drug and alcohol addiction is not a disease. You do not choose to have a disease it just happens, but you do however choose to get drunk or high. Nobody made you do those things so people need to quit acting like it's not their fault. Also the doctor didn't make you take those pills. I deal with severe pain everyday because I don't want to take narcotics or take a risk of getting addicted. There are other ways of dealing with things that doesn't involve changing your state of mind. Herbs and the things nature has given us has served that purpose long before doctors and medicine came around.
