How about we fix the sewers or the brick streets of Huntington instead of holding these stupid ass races every other weekend. Huntington is the worst ran city in the world lol I can't wait to Gtfo.

It should against the law to completely close down Us Route 60 I dont know why joggers have yo run in downtown Huntington when there is Ritter park and Huntington High School which has a running track. These people make me sick!

. Preach brother! Why use the park which was designed for running when we can pay the entire police force and several hundred "security guards" to block downtown business? Wtg Huntington lol

And I bet all four of you are obese. LOL. Take a different route, it's not difficult. Why hate on something that over 3,000 people had fun doing?! And the runs have nothing to do with the City if Huntington financially so your remarks there are unfounded. Losers!

That's not nice anon! Every route was blocked normally when they do these runs they don't block as many streets. And no I'm not obese I run every evening.

It's because it was the color run. They had to close it all down. They also made several announcements on the news the last few days about closures. Maybe you should bike to work on Saturdays. Or check online at tristateracer to find when there is going to be a blocked street downtown.

Bunch of gays running and starting it out as "color run".
Just a way to hide it for now, but give it a couple of years and it will be called rainbow run and sooner or later it will be a bunch of naked queers running.
Stop this nonsense now!
They have parks and football fields and running tracks.
They don't need to be on roads taxpayers paid for to use as transportation roads NOT running/cycling tracks!!!!!!!!

Heres a little information for you people...it was not a Gay race and so what if it was the point of the Color Run is whatever town the race is done at all the proceeds go to local charities to help out that town! And wow it had the roads blocked for less than four hours and it has nothing to do knocking Huntington out of repairs. I was there ans will any time they are here again! It was a good thing for Huntington! The Color Run!!!!

We used to do that too..ran all our colors out of town. Didn't block no roads at all...jus straight out of town. You young folks need to do things like we did in them good ole days! Had ourselves a gay time doing it and even smoked a few fags too boot!

It is almost like the race organizers are trying to hurt what business Huntington has left. These things are poorly organized, with the Police department trying to maintain traffic control. Normally volunteers do not show up for traffic control at intersections. this time, It was Paid helpers that didn't show up or were not instructed on their duties.
For Charity? even the "Color Run" website explains that the race is a "FOR PROFIT" undertaking. That means no public accounting of funds.

You people will find something to bitch about. It doesnt matter if it's good or bad. Check with United Way and see if they wasent helped from that race. I'm not arguing with you folks. It brought a couple of thousand people to downtown Huntington today and you think local business suffered? I'm sure money was spent somewhere. And if they made profit so what. Do you work for free? It was organized fine. I was there and it all ran smoothly and was cleaned back up and back to normal routine in less than four hours.

3000 people had fun? What about the untold thousands who were delayed from getting to their jobs, grocery store, a family outing or even the hospital? How about out of town travelers who were detoured away from U.S. Route 60? No one said you should not run or jog, more power to you, but do it in a less traveled area. Jeez- you must be some kind of dumazz!

Here's a thought. On Saturday mornings till about 10:30am, if you need to go downtown, you should take 6th Ave, then take whatever street you need to get you downtown. That may take an extra 3-5 minutes. Sorry for such a life changing inconvienience that may take an extra 3-5 minutes on your Saturday morning commute. Typical Huntingtonian. Fattest, most depressed city in America. No Wonder.

the united way is corrupt as h3ll. the race, which w/o a doubt, a gay pride race. men n wedding dresses, big dude n a tootoo, the runners were spray painted as they ran which gave the impression of rainbows at the finish line.

but whatever, im sick & tired of them racing on city streets. i've seen races star at camden park on 60 & take up 1 lane til htgn, then so many side streets were blocked i culdnt get to work either. i'd b more tollerable if it was only a few times a year. but now? it seems like they're having atleast 1 a month. sumtimes more. & the news gives very little coverage about the road closings. i kno. i watch the news & work for a local news media. they need to move the races towards another area. ritter park wuld b much better.
