I have a drug related felony on my record
Have been clean for over a year and plan to stay that way
I'm looking for a second chance. Need a job but my felony disqualifies me from most jobs.
Suggestions for an employer who will hire someone with a felony?

Have you considered maintenance work? I've seen several with past felonies work in that field.

Start your own business. Handy man or lawn care pay well. Just work hard and treat your clients well.

STFU!!! Go out and pick up cans in the gutter (where you belong) and stay away from honest people. You were warned abouit the dangers of drugs and shouldn't have done it so I don't feel sorry for you one bit. Trying to get sympathy from others because of your mistakes is ludicrous.

How big a boy are ya? I have a concrete job coming up in a week or so, gonna need some dirt work and a wheel barrow driver for about 24 yards of concrete. I don't care if you have a felony, people make mistakes all the time. It aint easy work and it will be hot as, well ya know...If you are interested e-mail me at [email protected] and we will talk the particulars.

Submit them to a drug screen. Why not give them another chance?

I'd Say from the research I've read in the last hour on here. Fat Pattys, or Huntington Health and Rehab Hospital. Both seem to be pretty tolerant of those with "colorful" backstories.

we all have a past......some more colorful than others......I am sure there are plenty of people who have other things.....and to be honest if they are trying to turn a new leaf someone has to give them a chance.......or else they may resort to old ways just to get by and before you know it they may be back in jail........this is someone who is trying to make changes since he knows his past didnt work out too well........

If you are actually done with your past and are trying to move forward you can find a decent job somewhere. You can even become a nurse with a drug felony depending on the individual, the charge, and what you've done since. So don't let someone discourage you. Everyone has done something wrong, they may have just not been caught so they think they are better.

Look into classes to further education if you need it. Computer skills are a must these days!

Macy's 100% hires felons, Walmart, and a lot of others. There is actually a site that you can go on that has a list of companies willing to hire felons, but I'm not sure what it is.

It will be hard, but everyone one deserves a second chance, just depending on what you're looking for. Of course fast food, restaurants, telemarketing so on. But also there are careers too. Just do some research and make some phone calls. Good luck!

Start your own small business like lawncare or painting. This way you can can create your own customer base and depend on a check from an employee who is going to judge you. Treat people good and do what you promise. You can't go wrong.
