For posterity's sake, there is a now defunct neighborhood in Huntington that my Great Grandmother referred to disparagingly as "Frog Island." It basically doesn't exist any more. 95% of its houses have been razed to make way for businesses over the last several decades. There are maybe 8 houses left where there were once about 6 or 8 city blocks full of houses. Even by the 1980's it was mostly gone. I understood that some rather unsavory characters came from that area. When I was a kid, if I acted up, she would tell me that I was behaving like "someone from Frog Island." But she said it more pointed than that, but she always had a jovial tone about it.
