well of course they are still cheating. Amazon has some of the worst shifts of any call center around. Shifts that cause men and women to be away from there spouses and family's for long odd hours. My cousin worked there and said she never got to see her husband and kids because she was stuck on evening shift, then after shift bids ended up with an equally bad shift and her husband was so tired of taking care of home on his own it was causing major stress on the marriage. She finally quit and went to a better paying position with a permant marriage friendly shift. Key word. Marriage friendly. Amazon is a place for single people to work period! It's not a place that honors family and definitely not marriages. If you luck up and get a decent shift, enjoy it. Because you could lose it next go around.

yes he is still cheating. I know a guy who played several girls up here and even after getting busted he is still up to no good. She must be dog ugly with no self esteem to forgive all that. I wonder if she knows about what he's done after he got caught??

I work there and I've been seeing a married man who I work with. He doesn't have a very good reputation, but I can't stay away from him for some reason.

So lets hear the lie oh great honest one.

I don't know the guy you're talking about since I don't work there but I'm curious to hear what your side of said lie is.

Are they hiring ? I heard you can wear anything to work including pajamas. It would be nice to roll out of bed in the morning and go to work without having to get dressed up and do my hair and makeup. I also heard all the experience you need is how to talk on the phone. If someone makes me mad are we allowed to cuss them out ?

Sorry, at the moment, they are not hiring, they actually just ramped down from peak season.

As for the attire, yea you can pretty much wear what you want here, and the job is amazing, but you absolutely cannot curse out a customer, however, if they begin making personal attacks against you, you are able to give them a warning, and if they continue, you can disconnect the call.

I heard you can eat free popcorn all day and if you are real good you can pick out a free candy bar from the candy cart that they push around all day. And you can play pool and games and get your hair done in the cafe room and they have a lot of bathrooms. Can you use the phones to call long distance ? I have a cousin in London and I could call her everyday and talk for a long time for free.

Free popcorn and candy bars ??? Sounds like the employees are treated like children and not adults. I know several people that went and work there but only stayed a few months. I can't see anyone making a lifetime career working there. It seems like a place to work while job searching or in college.

If I get a job there I would start a book club and we can meet for several hours once a week and discuss the book of the week. Also when not busy I could start an exercise class where I can teach how to get exercise twirling a majorette baton.

I actually have to agree with this. I have a girlfriend who is a single mother and she works there and gets the worse shifts ever! Its not like she just started either. She's been there for almost 3 years and every shift bid gets a late evening shift. I think once you've been there for a while you should be able to at least advance to a better shift. She's currently looking for another job so she can spend time with her kids.

I have worked for Amazon for over 3 years. First, let me say that when doing a shift bid, you are given a list of the available shifts and you rank them. This means that the associates you know that works there, either chooses a day off or time that is more important to them. Also, it based on your stats, not tenure. This is nature of the business, and all workers are advised of this from the beginning. Yes they get free popcorn, they have a popcorn machine and allow any worker to enjoy the snack for free. I'm sorry if someone feels that is treating the staff like children, we felt it was nice that they didn't want to take unnecessary money out of our pockets. As for converting to permanent blue badge, it is based on your stats, your ability to do this work,it is not for everyone. Your CSM does get to supply feedback, especially on someone who may not have their stats in line yet, but is working well towards it. Also, remember that many times those who are not converted have other issues, such as attendance that knocks them out of the position, and they don't want to tell everyone the truth.

. Do you have to talk on the phone all day ? I would hate that. Are you allowed to take a smoke break whenever you want to ? Can you really wear pj's to work. I hear a lot of people say that but can't believe they would let woman walk around in those sexy nightgowns exposing themselves. I need to before 7pm so I can be home at 8pm to watch my tv shows. Can we keep a mini fridge at our desk to keep snacks and pop in.

that's not true on the shift bid. I ranked what shifts I wanted and ended up with the 12-15th choice! And everyone around me that I know ended up with evening shifts when they all wanted earlier shifts.

yeah i went to the bathroom and see two guys leaving the stall...lol...and then at lunch i seen a guy get a bj in the back parking lot from a guy! wtf...the only thing i see about cheating is the guy on guy action...you all should be fired. If you dont like it here , then go get another job. we dont need you and we can get by fine without you all....so if the grass is greener on the other side...then go eat the grass...and good luck to you. In fact just let me know who you are...and ill call you into office and fired you...just saying..and i dont care if your at home or not...let me fine my employees on here bitching and you will be looking for another job. Just remember. I can get someone else to do the same job as your doing but the diff is that their name will be on the pay check. Ill be checking this site and if i fine anymore post about my company ..i will issue an company investigation and will find and fire you...you been warned!!!!!!

If you applied yesterday, good for you, it is a good place to work.
I am getting so tired of all these posts slamming this place, I'd like you all to take a step back and take a different perspective on this job, remember what it was like when you were working at mcdonalds for minimum wage sweating your butts off in a hot kitchen that smells like raw burger meat and chicken nuggets. Remember that job you had at the gas station for minimum wage, working on your feet all day.
So the better performers get the better shifts, so what? If you do well, you are rewarded, first with a permanent shift, then with better options for advancement, and better shifts. It's the nature of our world, you do well, you are rewarded, the way it should be.
So there are people cheating, so what? Who and what people choose to stick their private parts in whoever they want. It's not your business, and there is a good chance that you are only complaining because you cant get any, stop being children, and mind your business.
So people wear PJ's to work, So what? They are clothes people, it's not like people are coming into work in their underwear, get a grip, this is not a big deal at all.
I think I have covered most of the complaints people seem to have on these threads. I am not saying it's a perfect job, they do not communicate change well, sometimes having two different leads will pull you in two different directions, and that may screw you up, but they always have your best interest at heart. And are you just a number at amazon? Yes you are, just like any other job you've ever had, you are only a number, get over it. It's a good job, there are some really good people there, and alot of people who are put in positions for one purpose, to help you succeed. It's not the perfect job, but it's one of the best you are going to get in this area with no college degree, so for those of you who dont work here, do not be afraid to try it. quitting is always an option if you dont like it. And for those of you who work here and complain about it....quitting is always an option. Use some of those odd non business hours you are always talking about and fill out new applications, and stop slandering this place for people who may otherwise enjoy making their paychecks here.
