First, during an election, a rival poll worker warned Ramey that he would block any vote-stealing by Ramey agents inside a Wayne precinct on Election Day. So, the night before the election, Junior had his magistrate wife issue a rape warrant against the poll worker. Junior hauled him to jail, where he languished through Election Day. The following day, Junior released him, saying the rape complainant had disappeared.
For that stunt, Ramey went to federal prison for violating the rival’s political rights. One U.S. agent told me that Junior was the first American convicted under the nation’s new civil rights laws, but I didn’t make a nationwide inquiry to check it out.

After Ramey returned to Wayne County and resumed his constable role, amazing fraud complaints arose. Some victims said the constable sold them money-cranking machines that were supposed to turn dollar bills into ten-spots, but they didn’t work. Another said he was sold chemicals to be used in a bathtub to turn blank paper into money, which likewise didn’t work. An Arkansas fireworks firm said Ramey bilked it of $10,000. Coin dealers from Alabama and Michigan said they gave the constable large sums for coin collections that didn’t exist. Another victim paid for a wig business that couldn’t be found. A Kentucky man paid for a truckload of imaginary tires.

A Wayne County grand jury indicted the constable for swindling — but that case was delayed when he shot a young man three times with his police pistol. Three brothers quarreled with the Rameys at a Wayne drive-in restaurant owned by the constable’s mother. He chased them in his Cadillac, shooting at them with his revolver. He shot out a tire, then shot one of the brothers thrice

A person convicted of a felony may, after having served their time, paid any related fines and served their parole may run for political office and may vote. The only restriction to this is I believe the person may not run for a federal level office.

can someone please tell me how junior ramey has done good for the town of Wayne because i don't see anything different . what do you call doing good for Wayne??(stealing money from the town and using it for his own benefits?? he don't sound very trustworthy to me. Junior is not an outgoing person, he never speaks to anyone other than the people that have dollar signs flashing in their eyes. Hes a crook and always will be. What does he need to be sheriff for he already drives around in the police car, if that will do him justice just let him do that and then maybe we can actually put someone in there that wants to help the town of Wayne. Vote REX SOWARDS FOR SHERIFF

this goes out to cares,
so im not sure if you know what you are talking about when you say Rex Sowards was a high school dropout. He graduated in the 1980's. I mean there is no use to get mad because the Ramey's has brought everything on themselves. Don't do the crime if you don't want to pay the crime. I dont see Ramey as Sheriff. Now about the Sowards boys you are right. They are good ole boys. They truly have helped out Wayne County. Harry "Rocky" who is the wayne county pre-k liason. Greg along with Rocky who took a girls basketball team to win their only State Championship ever. Greg also helped the Wayne A-Team win a Turf Bowl Championship. Ricky who has helped anyone has relied on him. Roger who is also a very active with kids sports. His nephews Harry Sowards and Eddie White who has have a big impact on Wayne. So I don't think the Ramey's could say this about their family. Because all of us would get mixed up about which one they are talking about. All of there names are JR... My vote goes to Rex Sowards

The West Virginia Ethics Commission was to meet on January 4, 2007, and one of the first things that should be on the agenda for that meeting are the findings of the Hearing Examiner and His Recommended decision against the Mayor of Town of Wayne James Ramey III.

Authur Browning, retired Magistrate of Wayne County, filed charges against the Mayor of Wayne for using public funds to remodel property which the ex-convict, James Ramey III , Mayor of Wayne, owns and rents to the Town of Wayne and to the West Virginia State Police.

The WV Ethics Commission is to review the findings of the Hearing Examiner and his recommended decision. Then Commission must subsequently determine whether to accept or reject the Hearing Examiner's decision. According to Lew Brewer Executive Director, WV Ethics Commission.

The West Virginia Department of Labor is also investigating the Town of Wayne also from what I can find out on several prevailing wage violations in connection with the use of public money used by the Supervisor for the town of Wayne David Monroe Ramey and his brother, James Ramey III.

David Ramey went to prison when he was Chief of Police in Kermit for dealing drugs. Because his brother James Ramey III received immunity from prosecution from the FBI to testify in the Kermit case which he was also involved in. James Ramey III later went to prison while Mayor of Wayne for income tax evasion when he did not report the salary from the Town of Wayne and income on some rental property.

Then upon his release from prision David Ramey was hired by the Town of Wayne and then given the Supervisor's job along with about a $30,000 dollar a year raise. David Ramey is currently on probation for beating up a Department of Labor investigator who was investigating the Town of Wayne and The Wayne County Commission in 2002 for prevailing wage violations.

Man he ratted his brother out. There whole family has anger issues. brother beat up an investigator.??? whats with this guy?
