I am a 21 year old male who is looking for work. I am down here living with my girlfriend and I've recently been let go from my job. I'm basically looking for a very good paying job that has on-the-job training and makes $15+/hour. I was wondering if there are any companies that anyone can think of that hire people like this.

The best entry level position is missionary. It exposes the butthole for entry.

Good paying OJT employment at $15 per hour does not exist in this area (equals about $30k per year plus available fringes). You did not indicate your level of education (entry level for college graduates in specific fields in this area with some prior experience or exposure at $15 would be indeed good news for them). There are many young people waiting for positions who do not need OJT other than specific company procedures. Service industry openings do not start anywhere near $15 per hour and required months, years to reach move up. Manual labor OJT does not exist in this area and professional employment requires a background/education you may not have. Good luck to you, but honestly go where there is greater opportunity and if your girlfriend loves you she'll see in you a desire to get ahead and provide a decent future for you both.

I have work but can't find anyone to work. They work a month and get the electric bill paid and when the foodstamps come in, they don't show back up! It's easier to be lazy, that's why there isn't any work around here. To easy to say screw the work and then they go get high!

What type of work do you have available?

With no trade, no college education, and little experience except with farm work, I can tell you that there is no way you're going to find $15/hour wages here. What you could do is find two $10/hour jobs, because the only thing you can bring to the table right now is a strong work ethic.

I've worked 50-60 hours a week to support myself ever since I moved down here. Just looking for something better

There is nothing down here that makes that much money. I have been at my job for five years and dont come close to 15 dollars an hour. Your best bet is to run, fast back to where you came from.

Stay away from unions. They are notorious for taking fees from their members and delivering diddly squat in return. Look at the twinkies union people...how'd that work out for them?

You sure are right about that. I make $60k a year and my trade union takes about $3k of that for assessments and dues (which is tax deductible by the way). Oh yeah, you'd be much better off working non union trade work and only making $25-35k... That makes sense.

Nothing new - you are overpaid.

Non-union = better quality for less $$:)

Unions are on the way out the door and non too soon. They are a thing of the past. You should get used to it.
