DO NOT TAKE THEM TO KIWANIS IN HUNTINGTON!!!! They restrained my son (13 months old) in a high chair for over an hour (because that was how long it took it him to give up his pacifier)... whenever i had documentation from his dr to not take it away because of security from where we just had another baby... and that was directly from the directors (Patty) mouth!!!

Yeah they're pretty awful...my younger brother was there a few yrs back and they were just awful...we yanked him from the program as soon as we could. And idk if I would recommend playmates in westmoreland either...they seem to pick favoritest and leave the other kids out in the cold. It's not all of the staff bc some are rly excellent with the kids...but others could be better

You could try the YMCA daycare. They have activities planned for each day. And they really care and love the children. I have never seen any favoritism. They love them all. It is a state of the art facility with wonderful staff.

Kiwanis Daycare is a fantastic place to take your child. The reason, long lost friend, that they "restrained" your child was because it's against their accreditation to let a baby crawl around with the pacifier, as the child will more than likely drop it at some point, in doing so it would come in contact with a host of germs, and in most cases another baby is near by and will grab the pacifier and put it in its mouth. It's for your baby's well being, think before you speak. And I'm sure that Patty let you know very clearly why your baby had to sit in a highchair while it had it's pacifier. Kiwanis is very hands on with the children, all of the staff loves children and takes pride in their job. At Kiwanis the children do come first and I would encourage anyone to take their child there. No daycare is perfect but Kiwanis does everything they can to be the best they can be in their field.

I'm not sure how it is now, but I worked there for about a month while I was in college. They do have a different director now, and maybe things are better, but I would not have recommended it then. If you want a good, quality Day Care, try Crossroads, Fifth Ave. Baptist or Eastwood Learning Center. If you are looking for a Day Care that accepts LINK, try Pea Ridge Day Care.

playmates in dixon (lavalette) a couple of months ago let a child aroung 12 months of age out, and the baby crawled around for atleast 5 minutes before my grandmother stopped and took the child back in and they had no idea the baby was gone, so i do not reccomend them.

I don't know how old your child or children are but I have two suggestions. First is Early learning Child Development Center down on 2nd st, My kids went there and they are awesome. My second suggestion is,LINK. If you have someone who babysits that you trust well they will pay that person money to watch your child if you fall within the guidelines. They also have lists of places that are high ranking. As with anyone you need to check them out before leaving your precious cargo with them. Hope this helps.

Just so huntington forum knows, kayla blankenship and her family are strung out pill heads. The grandmaw actually found a basketball and was so pilled out she thought it was a child. Simple wayne county misunderstanding

This did happen but they have made steps to correct it such as having a latched gate at the entrance. The baby room is directly across the front entrance and I can see why this happened without proper security measures in place. Thank goodness they have fixed the problem and that the child did not get hurt, killed or kidnapped.

Where do you live? Several people in Prichard have in-home child care. Ask some of the parents at the elementary school for any suggestions.

I *personally* know one of the directors of Playmates. I'd feel totally safe having my child cared for there. Also, worked with a woman whose daughter worked at 5th Ave, and would recommend them too. Please, PLEASE avoid Kiwanis....I have heard absolutely nothing good about them. Only a bit of firsthand info, from a friend who had her son there briefly. She was really dissatisfied. She thought it was unclean, and that the staff seemed a bit shady...but to be fair, this has been several years ago.
