This evening I ran in Fat Pattys on 3rd ave in Huntington, to pick up a to go order. I was in there approximately 15, 20 minutes tops. Came out to NO CAR. The owner of the Rat infested furniture store, had my car towed. Now I am pretty sure that if they had called Thompson's wrecker service, it would have at least taken longer than this to get there, let alone load the car and be gone with it. They have to have someone watching, and ready on hand to do this. It cost me 115.oo to take my car 4 blocks. This practice should be against the law. It is a scheme to get money from people in the area, I watched them towing another car when I discovered mine gone. The man who owns glaser rents the building fat pattys is in to them. NOW COME ON. Perhaps everyone should boycott Glaser, oh wait, I never see any customers there anyway. I will never give them a penny of my money for this!

He is just protecting his property. Yes, it is a shitty store, however he knows that if anyone actually WANTED to come to his store and could not find a place to park like they used to be able to, they would just drive off and make no effort to find a parking space. Plus, you are kind of a tool. It's common knowledge that if you park in one of his piddly spaces that are CLEARLY MARKED, you WILL get towed. I hope you enjoyed your $120 frozen hamburger patty though!

I think you'd be surprised at how nice the furniture is. Only huntingtins upper class buy furnitur there. Its kinda a special order. Much higher end than value city. If you would have obeyed the law you wouldnt have been towed. He doesnt care who parks there after he closes.

He has beautiful, well made furniture. Definitely worth the price. Once you buy top quality furniture, everything else is just cheap furniture. I agree, if you parked where you know not to park then you deserved to get towed!

The place is a rat hole. He's a pissy old fart that can't deal with progress. Unless you want a bean bag chair there is no reason to go there.

When I was a freshman in 98 or sophomore in 99 at Marshall I wanted to get my football ticket. There were no spots open along 3rd and none in the parking lot which is now the parking garage across the street. I drive around the block 3 or 4 times looking for an open spot with no luck. I noticed the Glazer lot had 1 maybe 2 cars in the lot. I pulled into a spot put on my emergency flashers and ran into the Henderson Center, got my ticket, and ran right back out. It took maybe 5 minutes at most. As I'm coming up to my car he is out there with his white shirt, suspenders and belly hanging writing down my plate number. I instantly said Sorry I'm leaving just had to get my ticket for the game. He said customer parking only and you're getting towed. I again apologized and said I've only been in there a few minutes. He said doesn't matter you're getting towed. I then got annoyed and said whatever as I had heard about them. I got in my car and started it up and began to leave. He tried to block me in and keep me from leaving. I honked and he stood there. I got out and said I'm leaving please move. He refused. So I said I'll run your ass down got in my car and backed up. He moved and then came at my car like he was going to kick it or something. Never seen someone so bent out of shape because someone parked in his empty lot for less than 5 minutes.

F him and his store.

I completely agree with not parking there during store hours, but after hours is what I'm so confused about. Obviously his business is not using the parking lot while its closed, so why not let people park there? He almost had my car towed after hours, but luckily I got it moved before the tow truck arrived.

You shouldn't have parked where you weren't suppose to park. Putting your emergency flashers on so you could go in and by a ticket is just plain ridiculous! You should have been towed!!

You wouldn't be disappointed in the quality of the furniture. I have brought several things there over the years and I've never had a problem with any of
It.

Omigod it's so ridiculous!!! Did you scream that like a 12 year old watching American Idol? I didn't debate parking. Its their property. I was pointing out how pathetic the douche is. It's not as if he is liked in Huntington as I've found out living here for over a decade. My point was to agree with the poster that said they must sit and wait because they obviously have nothing better to do when they are not selling bean bag chairs to their high class customers that don't shop at Value City Furniture.

As I said above it wasn't to debate what they can do on their property. I fully understands laws and the course of action that one can take especially on personal property. I'm sure if you went to Marshall or know someone who did then you're fully aware not to park there because the "Parking Nazi" will get you. I thought it was just a random story that got passed around until it happened. The best part is I've heard countless stories that are similar in nature since.

Eventually the place will fold and be removed. The stories will fade as time marches on. When those of us remember the store one day when we're gray and old possibly we'll laugh about someone so wrapped up in their parking lot.

I guess you have to live for something. I don't blame him.

This is the 2nd thread on topix I've seen about people being pissed about their cars being towed when parked illegally. Imagine how many times he has had to deal with students in that lot, people coming to games, fat patty's customers, etc. I would be annoyed too if people thought they were too good to pay for parking like everyone else.

Park illegally in a well posted area, you deserve to get towed. jeeze huntington people learn to walk a few blocks. It's good for you.

I came from Greenup to check out the furniture at Glasers after being told that it was a place that sold quality furniture.
My wife and I parked about 6:30 and walked to the front of the store, looked through the window and then realized they were closed.
We liked what we saw and were planning to come again during their open hours.
Having heard of Fat Pattys also, we decided to try it.
We had been inside about 5 minutes when someone came in and said cars were being towed.
I went out to see "TOW" wrote on the window of my car in big white letters!
I had never heard about this and was actually going to Glasers not knowing they were closed.
They don't have to worry about getting my business now!
I WILL NOT SHOP AT GLASERS!
I have warned others about this but see no use on talking to the owners of the furniture store if they were worried about me taking theory customers spaces when they were not open for business!
I did, however, enjoy Fat Pattys and we are looking forward to the store opening in Ashland!
Great food and service at a reasonable price!
