If they can use it to run over junkies, crack users, and meth heads, I'm all for it.

i think its great that the police chief is moving the department forward. use whatever means available to take back our city from the dopers and junkies. if you dont agree then you are a part of the problem. how about getting with the program and be part of the solution. the cops are out gunned by these dope dealers and need help, so give it to them. if you are not a dope dealer then you shouldnt have any problems.

Why would a town of less than 50,000 people think it's a good idea for local police to have a MILITARY vehicle costing over $250K?
Why would they need something like that? Huntington is gotten pretty bad, but it's no war zone! Ridiculous ...

Just curious. Can you point to a specific instance in which HPD were outgunned? Can you point to any specific instance in which the HPD exchanged any gunfire during a situation that they are claiming the vehicle is for? If the goal really is to "take back our city" I think there were better ways to spend that money.

well its unfortunate that its not a pothole grant, I guess a few officers have to die for someone to think "well i guess that vehicle would have been beneficial" funny how some people know they would handle an LE situation, without ever having the tenacity to remove their fat a** from security of their little kingdoms, no free man wants a one world order, but take away all government structure that some cry about, and im sure all people will live in peace in this land of milk and honey, we will hold hands and sing songs and all evil will be gone, narcissism and greed abolished, anarchy will reign, dog eat dog, yes, a much better choice, because hey, we care about one another right?

Lmao...cops are outgunned? Hahahahahaha

I cant remember a single instance in the history of huntington where the cops were outgunned by a "dope dealer" or anybody...lmmfao.

An entire police department cant apprehend a spaced out junkie without the 1st infantry getting involved? Thats just sad..

Building a taxpayer funded drug rehab center and providing opportunity sounds like a much better method than just gunning down everybody...if you call that "moving forward" then you must be a nazi...they gave the jews that same line of bullshit right before they rounded them up.

It is an unnecessary expenditure by the State and by the City. I know the City only has to pay $13,000 but the $266,000 State Grant money came from somewhere, likely Homeland Security.

Did we receive any money for training on the vehicle? How about any money for maintenance? What does it do to the insurance expenses?

If we toss 10 cops in the thing plus a driver doesn't that take most of a shift? Will it have to wait for others to come from home?(Hustle up boys, the tanks a gettin' ready to roll).

A poor use of money and resources. We have a nice new boat and a new tank. God only knows what silly thing we will acquire next.

Good question!
It`s not just happening here, but all over. And you can expect it to continue this year across the country. Homeland security has purchased more ammo and ordinance than the national gurad has.
Finacial experts are all bracing for the collapse of the American dollar. Last year American debt as crossed a dangerous thresh hold. We reached the magic number where it is impossible to pay it back. The collapse will be orchastrated by debtors and then followed by American supporters pulling away from American currency.
Best case scenerios public services will be shut down for days and weeks with riots in larger cities .

In 3-5 years it will be parked under the 6th Street Bridge with all the city's other junk vehicles. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) on a vehicle like that is expensive even when the vehicle is being used frequently and as-designed; as it is the HPD will need to look for reasons just to start the engine and drive it around the block. They will also try to loan it out to other agencies since it is now a "regional" asset to try to recoup costs and look for every opportunity to have it featured in pics in the HD in a weak attempt to show how much it was truly "needed"...

the police try to get the equipment so that they can safely do their job to protect us and you people cry like a bunch of paranoid babies un fn believable. you people are nuts. I bet you cry babies would be the first to call the police and hide in your house if some dopers moved in next to you. you would be too scared to come out of your house and confront a gangster thug. I bet that vehicle would be great then wouldn't it? you wimps would be sucking up to the cops then wouldn't ya.

The SWAT team could use something like that. I don't think most people have any idea how often they respond on calls around here. And looking at what they are doesn't make me think it is uncalled for. Grants are there for a reason for smaller departments to get equipment that they could not otherwise afford. I have yet to figure out why people around here whine so much. They whine that the police don't do their jobs. Then they whine that they are doing their jobs but they feel it should be directed at people other than themselves. You might be thankful one day when its you are the one that's in danger. But somehow I think most of you will b*tch about that too.

I'm glad that people are waking up to the NWO because it isn't conspiracy, it's on record. Nationwide, the police are becoming militarized and the control grid is being put in place. Humanity will survive and good always overcomes evil. We are past the point of no return.
