After a little time to calm down I either feel like if I am going to pursue asking any further questions on here I will start a new thread but most likely I'm just going to keep pondering the questions in private because unfortunately too many people on here lack any intelligence or empathy whatsoever and either judge, say hurtful things or answer without addressing the actual question and none of that is helpful. I would like to take this chance to thank those of you out there who have attempted to remain cordial and address the questions and topics I've raised with maturity, empathy, understanding, and tact. You truly are the better examples of what humanity has to offer regardless of your religious background.
God Bless you dear. And I’m sorry you had to be exposed to the tyranny on this website, I guess that’s what God meant when He said to not listen to the (so called) wisdom of men, but heed to the power of God. And in that power comes Glory and Victory.
You know, satan has power to make our lives miserable, so that we have doubts… but it can be conquered, you just have to have Faith, even if it‘s just the size of a mustard seed..

Why doesn't this god tell us these things himself, instead of through the ramblings of ignorant, iron-age goat herders?

You say a lot but back it up with nothing. Oh well, as they say, that which is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed, without evidence.

Dismissed.

Satan! LOL! The Devil made me do it!

Don’t you agree, baby goats are one of the cutest things God created?

Curious, you say you have attended Church and have been taught about God, so you are not with out the true word. You are confused because you were "probably" passed a counterfeit by satan! Do some soul searching through prayer and talking to God through reading and studying the Bible. Every answer to every question that you may have, you will find there! You will not find them on topix. I'm only telling you how to find the true answer. If you wait too long you may not find the answer and miss out on Heaven. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a God and I know it because of the faith that I have in God. You want to be in Heaven with your child then give your life over to God, 100% and you will know for sure that there is truly a God that loves you.

I was raised baptist and until recently I was pretty faithful. I have seen a lot of bad things in my life and that has brought me to ask this question about God. If He is all knowing and all powerful why does he allow all the bad things happen to good people? And when those bad things happen, why is the blame put on the devil and "free will"? Its looking like a cop out to me. How do you feel about people who want all the credit for good things that happen and take none of the blame for the bad things?

Evil is the abscence of good. Rightous does not create the unrightous. Just as cold is the absence of fire, you`re philosophically blaming fire for the cold when you blame good for all the evil. Yes I see alot of bad things too. That`s not a religious or atheist problem. It`s a human problem. Religious or atheist alike can contribute to the problem or the solution. Believe in God or not, it won`t change or solve the problem.

Good News, I am with you in the fact that it is people that are bad. The point I was trying to make is that most christians thank God for all good and blame Satin for the bad. If God is so powerful why cant he be responsible for both or just do away with bad all together instead of taking credit for good things and laying blame for bad things on Satin or that he gave us "free will"?

This is to curious soley!! Just wanted to apologize on my part. From your last posting, it seems your truly a lost soul looking for guidance. But, your not going to find any proper guidance here on topic. That was my point in general. I have been in your shoes and worse, but you have to look within yourself to find the answers you seek. I studied many, most religions before finding peace within myself. It won't happen overnight but it will happen! Best of luck to you and your child. My biggest point of advise, you can't ask questions like this and expect serious answers you seem to be seeking. This is an open forum, and it just seemed to me at first that you were angry that life handed you a lesson you didn't think was fair. Well, it's called life and we play the cards we are dealt. What you do tho, you must find the answers within yourself!!! I truly hope you find what you seek.

I'm an aspiring theologian... I love the concept of religion... I say I'm an atheist it's easier for people to wrap around their mind bc I'm not a follower of any faith... It's silly to me almost that people are still in organized groups of religion. You would think people would see the flaws of it by now... The underlying secrets of the bible and Christianity. When the catholic church used to be in power under monarchs the people could not read Latin... Sadly that's what language the bible was written in at the time only to be translated by a superpower church? Really I bet they were entirely educated enough to do that job and secondly the church was so well connected to the kings that they could have changed things. And people were so simple centuries ago. Very gullible. You mean to tell me that a woman was impregnated by god? Immaculate conception... Well that's nice but physically impossible for any creature of the mammalian race. What a wonderful lie that snowed people for years. And still is today.... The history of Jesus may be true. At least parts. I'm sure he was a great man. But Muslims and the Quran are greatly related to Christianity believe it or not. The Quran also features Jesus and Mary. But he was not the son of god. He was a prophet of god and was not crucified on the cross... He evaded the Romans and judas was crucified as Jesus. So, basically what I'm saying is every time someone passes down a story it changes just a little. Holy or not. Now afterlife... I'd like to think I'm pretty well educated on religion and the bible among other religions. I was entirely atheist before I got married. My wife and mother are special people... My wife is a pagan. No that doesn't have anything to do with the devil or witchcraft. It's actually one of the oldest religions of this world. Believing in balance and nature... God and goddess... Honestly it's fascinating. But at night I have my wife tell me about heaven which she claims really exists for reasons I can't disclose. However "reincarnation" is something she believes.... No hell. No devil.... Instead heaven is a place where our inner soul goes home too after studying life as a student so to speak on earth... As a soul we make "life charts" we plan things good and bad and who we share these things with, experiences we wish to learn from. Oldest souls being people with mental retardation bc it's the hardest lesson and life to live as a soul. Make sense? Any questions just ask and I'm sorry about your son... Maybe he is an old soul... Cherish him.

People don’t realize that they are spiritual because they are bombarded with their every day physical lives.
Got to pay those bills so they work 40 hours a week.
Got to eat, got to bathe, got to sleep, got to tend to the children, the yard, the house, the car, the pet etc. etc.….there is no time for a spiritual connection so the spirit gets neglected.

I suggest reading “Prepare for War” by Rebecca Brown. It will show you how to get reconnected with your spiritual being. It gets boring at times but if you tough it out and read it all, you will not regret it. I was greatly enlightened by her book, you will see “everything” in a different light…that’s for sure.

Or the "spiritual" is a bunch of baloney.
