I appreciate all the comments. Just to clear things up I have done everything i can to alleviate the pain including ice, elevation, ibuprofen and aleve. I am not a drug addict seeking to get high. The doctor excused me 1 day from work and gave me a boot that slightly helps. If it weren't for just getting this job i wouldn't be walking on it much, but i can't risk losing my income at this point
Oh, so that's why you sold your pills.

Don't sweat it man. Here in the real world we realize that your Dr gave you what amounts to a string Tylenol. Ignore the condescending morons who think everyone's a drug addict. They don't get out of their trailers much.
Thanks man, i totally agree. People are way too quick to judge sh*t even with me posting i'm not looking to get a bunch of strong stuff.

You totally misunderstood my post. I was saying that i couldn't lose my income by not going to work, not because of selling pills

Go to methadone clinic or get saboxone
I'm not an addict seeking treatment, plus i'm pretty sure the clinic isn't for people with injuries

The doctors are like this everywhere. You can thank all the druggies And dealers for this. These policies are like gun laws, it only makes it harder for the good people to get access to what they need while the bad people will get theirs from the black market.

I agree, and i'm pretty sure that's what i'm experiencing. My doctor is being less than understanding even though i've explained my situation to them.

I wasn't meaning to suggest that you are an addicted. However those pills are highly addictive. Narcotics are highly addictive. Working in a Pain Management office and seeing all the people coming in addicted from legitimate reasons. Many from surgeries and broken bones, car wrecks or whatever. Once they start that it is one fake injury after another. It is not worth it for a broken toe. If it hurts that bad call the Doctor and make an appointment. Suck up the pain for a couple of Days.

Another problem is the pill junkies have told these doctors every story under the sun. Every excuse etc. there is almost nothing left to stay. This is part of the breakdown in society that hurts good people. This situation actually forces some pain patients to buy their pain mess illegally. These policies and lack of judgement among the doctors is actually feeding the problem of illegal drugs.

Just out of curiosity, have you, yourself, ever been seriously injured and needed pain meds for an extended period of time?

No kidding, i have had to take pain meds for broken bones before and had no problem with being addicted to them. I just think it's rediculous for them to refuse me just because they think i shouldn't need them

This whole place is full of pillhead pieces of shit, and I guess you're one of them. Maybe he's not, but the chances that you're not over there beating off to Bill Maher are greater.
By the way, I saw where they put your post election party video from 2008 on the Internet:

To all the sociopaths that do not understand what it is to live in pain. Do you know that 14 Combat veterans are committing suicide each day? You are the same one's that refer to me and my brothers as heroes and thank us for serving our nation. Well let me fill you all in on the reality of the situation. There are injuries that cannot be repaired and you have to live with them the rest of your life. Imagine having an abscess tooth everyday for the rest of your life and you are told by every doctor you see that the tooth cannot be extracted and you will just have to live with the pain. Many of my fellow veterans that have had limbs blown off, back injuries, head injuries etc. are in constant pain and have told me that they no longer want to live because they can't deal with the pain. Now, what do we tell them, SUCK IT UP? You hypocrites that thank us for serving our nation don't realize that doctors in the Veterans Administration are now afraid to prescribe pain meds for fear of losing their medical license. Have I gotten through to any of you yet? Don't ever thank myself or any of my brothers who served again until you understand what is happening out in the real world. Get out from behind your computers and go visit a combat vet in a VA hospital, then, you will know true learning will begin.

WTF does that have to do with the original poster's question regarding a broken toe?

Good for the Dr!!! If you're in that much pain, get enrolled in a Pain Clinic @ CHH or SMMC, where the Dr can monitor your pain & meds.
I think your response is ridiculous-this is an acute pain and a second refill to reduce pain is safe and warranted

Its not just Vets who are in that boat-I have multi focal pain-and its chronic and severe-but because my pain clinic got angry at me-they took away my meds-which I had been on and needed for years, then they documented it all in a way so no other clinic or doctor will treat me. I am very suicidal and all quality of life is gone for me. We live in a country where we have medication to alleviate pain. our media fueled by government has made doctors afraid to treat anyone. Its so ridiculous. what they turn to then is street drugs, alcohol and many will take their life when the misery is like mine now. I also know that pain clinics want you to have all these expensive procedures to "help" the pain and they don't work!! some made it worse. we live in a ridiculous world. In Texas you cant get any meds if you test + for marijuana-when they KNOQW it is a great med for pain. it is ridiculous.
