I'm glad that people on both sides of the argument are so ignorant. Atheists shouldn't argue the point with people that believe because it won't change anyones mind...the religious people shouldn't argue with athiets because the same outcome will come.

It's silly that people (on either side) argue so hard over something that will always be the divider between the two. Agree to disagree, then move on.

I totally agree with you. If an atheist, Christian, or any other faith or (non)faith truly believe what they believe, then why feel the need to argue the existence or nonexistence of God? The fact that either one is compelled to argue, betrays their insecurity in their (non)beliefs.

A lot of atheist do it because they feel that religion, especially in the US is being pushed on them. Regulating birth control for women, discriminating against homosexuals, attempts to ban abortion, attempts to teach creation in schools, blue laws, etc.

i'm not sure what's out there. I cannot call myself a christian because im not a massive hypocrite. I respect religion and will never argue with anyone about it. Because it's their right.

You've never heard the old, tired "There are no atheists in foxholes"? You know, christians insinuating that when times are hard, everyone calls on god? It's BS and 100% wrong but they love it.

You love anything against Christianity. Admit it YFNA. The truth will set you free. You chime in on anything on topix that is morally wrong.

oh right. I've been an atheist in a "fighting hole." I don't argue with people about it much, you can't change people's minds about it, people just have to realize there's no Zeus, Buddha, or Easter Bunny on their own. I do find it amusing that Christians pretend/believe they're constantly under attack or being persecuted, even though they're the majority of the population, and so powerful a demographic that no politician would DARE declare himself as anything else. I think it's part of the dogma

The Bible told the two deciples if they (people they were trying to talk do not believe they were to dust the feet off their sandals and go (paraphrasing). I do not believe in arguing about this what I do know is Indroid you stated there is no Zeus Buddha or even the Easter Bunny. I dont see the air I breath but I know it is there I can't see the wind but yet I can feel it. It is the same for me about religion. Jesus told Peter he was pleased that the Father revealved to him who Jesus was but he said greater will be the ones who believe and yet have not seen. I was going to add scripture but I do not want you to think I was beating up on you. if you read this I want you to understand I read your comments and chose to reply hopefully not in argumentive way but would like to hear back ty

of course it's true if you believe it. i'm not happy or proud of not believing, it's just a fact. i can't make myself believe or feel something that seems to me like a child's story, when so much happens in this world that does not make sense if jesus or an all-powerful deity by some other name loved everyone and is guiding all. it's the exact same as Zeus or the easter bunny or a cult - nonsensical fables.. the little pieces are not internally consistent because they were put together from bits and pieces of other stories and religions through time. it's all very clear in my mind how it came about, i just dont see how grown educated people still buy it

There is actually evidence for the existence of the air you breath though, unlike evidence for any god. Christianity offers the same proofs as every other religion. None. They also say the "feel" their gods presence, just like yours, why believe any of them?
