Oh my gosh I am so excited. I heard a city council person saying that Robbys is re-opening after many years. The new owners are going to try to keep it as close to the original as possible.

I cannot wait to relive some of the awesome memories I had at that place. They have already leased the original building and are starting remodeling soon (like next week).

Anyone else up for some good times there again?!? Let's rock it out when it opens.

That is some good news - I did have some really good times there many many moons ago!

Yay! Yet another club where Detroit drug dealers can sell their wares and then someone will get shot. The people who party in this town now are not the same crowd that partied when the original Robby's was open.

Sounds like a bunch of middle aged divorced cougars want to relive their glory days.

Can't wait! I loved that place and met my first husband there. Wonder if they'll play 90s music?

I wish it weren't true, but over the last 15 years Huntington dance-club owners have shown they dont know how to control security in the larger venues. They eventually become dens for drug dealers, meat markets, and hip-hop joints.
Rum Runners, Viper, Babylon, Icon, and now Thirsty Whale have all become charter members of that ill-fated fraternity.

Yeah.. bars and pubs are bad... we need more t totaler proddy churches because ya can't toss a rock in WV and not hit some baptist or non-denominational church... we need to follow some one else's definition of morality and should be judged harshly by the proddy bastards if we don't follow their misguided definition of Christianity. Isn't Joel Osteen or some other "Name it / Claim It" proddy on for you to get your salvation? Take your holier than thou diatribe somewhere else

Who knows why it was called Robby's and who owned it. One of the only reasons it stayed as long as it did before.

it was called "ROBBYS" due to the primary owner of the nightclub was Donnie Robinson, former student/athlete at Ceredo Kenova and a former MLB pitcher for the Pittsburgh "Pirates", his suster Cindy ran the day to day operations of the business !

Didn't he play when the ball players went on strike? Not throwing any hate at the guy. I could be wrong.

first game was April 10,1978 as a 28 year old right hand pitcher. Last game was July 17,1992. "CaveMan" pitched for 3 teams during his 15 year major league career.
