I'm opening in three days...the question i have is would you give my place a try?......as for prices...front brake service,$25 + price of pads...rear $35 + price of pads.....i prefer that the customer buy there own parts and I do the labor....i am currently working at a auto service in huntington and do not agree with how some customers are treated and done so i mention no names of the actual business i work for...i'm also considering powder coating .....all criticism and opinions welcome.....let me know what your looking for as a customer from a auto service...

That's a great idea I would utilize a garage service like that . Find a good location and post the address . And I will be there.

pick ONE if you do paint and body work in the same place as mechanic work you are asking for trouble...fisheye being the #1 enemy....sound like you have mechanicical back ground stick with it....plus I know the paint buisness I have been doing it for 12 years...it is very expensive and you are quick to hit the bottom of the hole when you have a paint problem...good luck on your buisness we need more folks to do it!

I know a lil about cars but I'm picky on where I down business as they try to make more money or unhook something to get more money. If you will be honest and listen to the customer then I would def come see you. Im looking for a mechanic as a local garage just messed up the rearend of my truck when I only took it in for rack n pinion n alignment.

I checked in garage insurance once. A mechanic only garage was around $100 month. If you did paint and body, it went up to around $800 month.

You need to consider problem with customer providing own parts. If part is bad, does customer pay labor twice? If not you end up doing a lot a free work. If you are cheap already, you can't afford to work for free. Many rebuilt parts from discount stores are bad when new. You need make policy clear.

I hold no liability on customer parts...so yes the work will needed to be done twice if part is defective....i will work with the customer....as for the cost of labor being paid twice i would charge half the original labor cost to change out defective.....i'm at located at 8th street west and washington ave

thanks all for the input.......as for the address i'm still waiting on on the inspector to come and give me the green light on the electrical.....now as for the paint work i don't plan on any all over jobs....just fixes for inspection and such.....i really don't have the facilities for that at the moment.....hoping once i get on my feet to move to a larger location......i can understand being picky doing business with some of the auto service....i do the most honest work i can...i always believed that it's just right not to rip off the customers....how else can you stay in business....i've seen my share of shady shops in my time and that's alot of the reason that i don't work for those anymore....i'm not saying there isn't good shops left...but it just seems that lately i don't know if it's the economy of what, but i hear about bad business more often....keep the input coming....i appreciate all :)

What's your name? If I'm going to call a phone number for a mechanic, I'd like to know who to ask for.
