WAYNE — Two men and two women were in the Western Regional Jail Wednesday morning on drug and conspiracy charges after an early morning, undercover drug purchase in Wayne. A fifth was released on bond.
The undercover work was done by members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department at 126 Cleveland St. in Wayne.
Members of the Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Huntington Police K-9 Unit assisted with the arrests.
Among those arrested were Jajuan Tyree Looney, 33, who faces the most charges, including a felony charge of delivery of controlled substance and conspiracy to commit a felony, along with a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer, according to jail records. He has addresses in both Huntington and Detroit, according to the Wayne Sheriff’s Department. He has past drug convictions in Michigan and is wanted in Michigan on drug charges, according to the Wayne Sheriff’s Department.
Also arrested were Alan McCoy, 39, and Chawntel McCoy, 35, both of Wayne, along with Jeriesha Anay Harper, 20 of Huntington. All three face a felony charge of conspiracy, according to jail records. Chawntel McCoy had the additional charge of aiding and abetting the sale of a controlled substance, according to the Sheriff's Department.
All were booked at the jail about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. They were arraigned in Wayne County Magistrate Court and each had bond set at $100,000, according to jail records.
A fifth person was arrested on a conspiracy charge but posted bond already in Wayne County Magistrate Court. The person’s name was not released from the sheriff’s department.
