The police scanner said a man had beaten a small puppy with a hammer on Bernard St. on the West End. Does anybody know if the puppy lived and who it was that hit it with a hammer?

Was it you? If you can prove it wasn't you then we can move to the next. Being as I live in VA, there is no way it could've been me. So where were you at the time this crime took place?
what?

Dude you are a border line idiot. It was Keith "Mousey" Carter. He works on air condition and is a total alcoholic. They say the little puppy is ok but I haven't seen it. Now do me a favor "Eat Me".

It takes a sick & weak person to harm an innocent animal . He must have problems with his masculinity.

Court today. Hope he serves jail time. Maybe that will sober him up and he will be more miserable than he made that poor puppy.

You should not judge the person unless you know all the facts!! They may have a lot of stress in their life and sometimes you just need to let it out. I am not defending him, but come on, it is just an animal. If he would have been beating on an alligator you guys would not be saying a thing about it. How about if he was killing a wasp, hornet, or roach? What's the difference?

there's a lot of difference. Have you never experienced the love of a pet???? From your post, sure doesn't look like it. It could of been someone pet that got loose. But anyways, he didn't have any right to bash it with a hammer.

Still, you did not answer my question. What if he were beating an alligator? What is he were killing a bee, wasp, hornet, or roach? Where is the line drawn? I was being serious.

Animals are incapable of complex human emotions such as love. Animals lack the brain cells needed to form complex emotions.

Many years ago, I worked in a field study regarding the subject of animal emotion and experimented on many animal species, but my specialty was primates and canines.

Many subjects displayed fear, aggression, or impassivity depending on the stimuli. Most simply looked at myself and fellow team as suppliers of food and water. When we presented no food or water after 3 days, the animals simply would leave the compound and move to the next camp and begin staying there as they found a new source of food and water. It is simply biology and the need to survive.

These so called pet lovers are to illiterate to realize that there's no difference. That's why they aren't replying to you with any intelligent answers.

I'll respond to it. It doesn't matter if it's an alligator or a puppy, or a wasp. It doesn't matter if you feel that the animal is capable of love. None of that makes any difference.

What matters is that a human being has the higher intelligence, and we DO know that living things feel pain. If I kill a wasp with a flyswatter instantly, SMACK, well, that's a quick death. I didn't enjoy it. If I put it in a jar to watch it starve, that's cruel and weird and there'd be something mentally wrong with me.

To beat an alligator with a hammer is just a stupid idea. If it's conscious, it'll kill you. Now if it was hogtied and you're doing that, again...you're a freak. If it must die, a quick shot to the brain. That is the most humane elimination.

If someone MUST kill a puppy (and don't tell me that dogs and cats don't love), the quickest, most humane way of euthanizing would be kindest.

I've had no choice but to kill some animals in my life. I never liked it, and I always did my best to be merciful. Never forgot it, either. If you can take a hammer to ANYTHING with a face, there's something seriously wrong with you and you need to be kept away from people.
