I've been checking the website, but I'm not seeing any applications for the Huntington center. Could any employees give me a heads up on when they are expected to start the hiring process?

You won't make very much money there. And when and if you do, that's when they will get rid of you. Several of us got the axe after being there for a while and getting bonuses and raises.

That's sounds odd. I know a few hard working people who have worked there that have said nothing but positive things.

Sweet. Found an opening somewhere else using my degree, but I'll try Amazon anyways.

I have to be entirely honest here....its a job. I have been employed by amazon for over a year now and frankly I hate it.
Why? Heres a list:

The management will try to *uck you over any way they possibly can

You are forced to work overtime, on whatever schedule they put you on.

The calls are back to back and you get in trouble if you so much as chill for a few seconds between them

You get 20 hours worth of away time IN A YEAR. So if you get sick, need to take your kid to a school thing, your car breaks down whatever you have to ration that out. That is 2.5 *ucking days you can have off for any reason. No doctors excuses accepted either.

The bottom line is this: you are merely a number at amazon. They don't care about you. If you don't produce good numbers they will fire your *ss and not think twice about it. Yes you can make decent money. Not great money, but decent money. I cannot recommend it as a whole though with all I have been through.

The constant stress of whether I'm going to be employed the next day and my kid will have food is making me go bald. I'm in my 20s. The Amazon experience ladies & gentleman

I say that if you do your job ( the one that they pay you for doing) then you don't have any stress or worries about loosing your job. Just do the job that you agreed to do when you accepted the job and you won't have a problem at all!!
But as you said, if I take more than my allotted break the supervisor gets on you. That happens because you are getting paid for "not doing your job". I think a person should work an honest hour for their hour of pay. You sound like you are there only for your own benefit and will screw the company anytime and EVERYTIME just given the opportunity. You just need to be fair!!

Did they come knocking on your door asking you to work for them? NOT LIKELY. I'd bet that you probably went to them and asked to have a job! Hey, if you don't like your job then you should do the right thing and step aside and let someone that will be thankful to have that opportunity. I hope you quit before you ruin the work environment for the others with all your soured negativity!!

you get more than 20 hours. you get 40 hours of unpaid time, and 20 hours of paid time. 20 hours of unpaid time in jan and 20 hours of unpaid in july. you also have the options of self shift swaps and peer shift swaps. I love my job at Amazon. For this area, benefits are fantastic, pay is decent, and it keeps my home running. They paid me my full 8 weeks I was on maternity leave, and even worked with me and my schedule when i came back...i am very Thankful for my job.

Are you allowed to have a microwave and mini fridge at your desk so you can have snacks while on the phone ?
