I agree with yoy but would add one more caveat: as long as its good for their cronies and business interests.

Manchin is a career politician who says one thing then does another. I love his new commercial where he "claims" he already shot a hole through cap and trade. What a liar! It was dead in the senate 3 months before he took office...there was never a vote.
Manchin shocked many in the legislature towards the end of his time as Governor by pushing a "green energy" bill through the legislature, House Bill 103. Here was a bill that only Obama could love, as it made serious cuts in the amount of fossil fuels, like our own coal, that could be used to produce electricity here. But when Manchin's 2010 Republican opponent, John Raese, pushed Manchin for an explanation for House Bill 103, Manchin quickly caved and ran the infamous TV ad where he is seen shooting the national Cap and Trade Bill (the first of the stupid shoot a hole commercials). These days, Manchin naturally tries to look outraged over the EPA's harsh actions towards West Virginia coal, but let's face it: he hasn't been able to change one iota of Obama's war on coal.So where is Manchin now? Is he really upset at the Obama Administration's EPA or is he just engaging in some dramatics for the folks back home to see? Hard to tell with Manchin anymore.

After all, he's gone from being opposed to curbs on coal, to pushing a bill that promotes such limits on coal production, to saying that he really didn't mean it. He's been all over the map, and people's jobs are at stake.

Folks in the coal fields of West Virginia aren't the only former supporters of Manchin who feel like they don't really know the man anymore. Ask Dr. Wanda Franz, Founder of West Virginians for Life, who in a recent letter to the editor excoriated Manchin for voting for Obamacare and for continued federal funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest supplier of abortions. Over $300 million taxpayer dollars in an exceptionally tight budget year, in fact. Dr. Franz calls this nothing short of a betrayal by Manchin to a pro-life constituency who had supported him faithfully over the years. But Obama wanted that Planned Parenthood funding, and Manchin dutifully voted for it.

Our world is in crisis. It is foolish to think that is not the case. Our financial crisis alone is scary. We owe China...hello....we are indebted to them and our Prez just keep borrowing. Wake up and educate yourself.

I come from a coal miner family as far back as I can trace my lineage on both sides we were coal miners whether in WVa or before we were in the USA; so I think I have a right to comment.
If Romney is elected he will lift all restrictions on the mine owners; that means dangerous working conditions, longer hours, less pay, less benefits. Once these owners are done gutting the beautiful mountains of WVa and every ounce of coal is gone, they will move their money into other ventures or other countries that have coal supplies. That will leave the hard working WVa miners as part of the 47% because they will then be on unemployment, medicaid, and food stamps. I personally don't want WVa to look or smell like China DO YOU?? Our majestic mountains that has been all of our heritage and WVa's pride are being destroyed. What kind of a heritage are the coal baron's leaving our children. Romney and the mine owners are in bed together when they are making money he is making money. He will look out for them NOT THE WORKERS.
I know that these comments will anger some of you but I have always been proud that my Daddy was a miner, he survived cave ins and died of Black Lung and Heart Disease and I want you to see how I feel towards all of you coal dust covered hard working miners.
My Daddy was a coal miner back in the day. Mining is different now it's done a new way
Back then it was dug out with shovel and pick. Hand drilling the holes for a dynamite stick.
Crawling down tunnels on hands and knees. Big men found it a very tight squeeze.
Working in teams of twos and threes. Pushing the coal back thru your knees.
Getting it back to the next man in line, Damaged the body arms, legs and spine.
After eight hours in a space so tight. The struggle and pain of standing upright.
Carbide lamp kept the darkness at bay. Hard work and faith got you thru the long day.
When the rats ran for the surface they went. Everyone knew a cave in that meant.
From deep in the mine the rumble would come. Bringing death and destruction surely for some.
What used to be done with a miner's blood, sweat and tears. Machines do now with belts, motors and gears.
But this is one thing that is still true today.
It takes a hell of a man to draw a miner's pay.
So well said and easy to tell you know about the sacrifices of a coal miner and his family first hand. I'm sorry about your Dad. As a former health care worker in WV, I saw way too many men with black lung, their barrel chests, stooped posture and struggle for breath." I just think there could be a middle ground. Not all or nothing. I've also seen first hand how the rich coal barons work the men in unsafe conditions. pay off desreputable inspectors and yes, rape our beautiful state. But, do you think the industry can be done safely and in a GREEN manner? I also am loathe to see these hard working proud men on a welfare line or on foodstamps. We are going to have to come to some middle ground sometime. Tourism will not carry this state and it's workers. How about the filth in the air in the Charleston valley. We could go on and on. I'm not for Obama or Romney. What are we to do??

I still live in a coal mining state although not WVa. Daddy only had girls and at that time women were not allowed to be miners, he always chuckled about that but I do digress. There is a very large well known College in this area that due to government funding has developed what is called a Coal Development Park. This whole large complex is trying to find ways of using American high Sulfur coal. They are trying to develop ways of stripping the toxic fums from burning this coal and other ways of using it that are environmentally safe. It seems to me that as much money as the mine owners make that they would find being involved in this type of research would be to their benefit. This is also the type of funding that Romney is talking about stopping.

Romney CANNOT life "all" restrictions. Changes in the law have to go through congress to change anything and I don't foresee any lifting of all restrictions. That is a stupid statement. Are some regulations onerous and unnecessary? Probably.
REALLY? informed Citizen??? How inappropriate!!! This is exactly how Romney will get votes from people that don't really know how the government is run. There are three governing branches to our government. The President The Senate The House when all three are ruled by one party That party can do or undo any law or regulation it wants to. Everyone seems to blame a setting President for everything that goes wrong or doesn't get done but it takes the Senate and the House to approve of anything before it ever gets to the President's office for signing. That's why the Republicans have been able to stop beneficial legislation the passed few years. One party does not control both Senate and House.

Are you retarded? The three branches of government in this country are Executive (the president), Legislative (Both chambers of congress), and Judicial (our high courts).

The Democrats controlled both chambers of congress and the executive office between 2008-2010. What good was accomplished?

LOL. Yet you are not worried about Obama thwarting our laws and bypassing Congress to make his own rules/laws. Amazing how "tolerant" liberals are when their own party breaks laws/promises. You are too 'transparent' although most democrats like to say they are but they are not. As we've seen with Obama and Pelosi and Reid. The WORST administration yet for not keeping its promises to be transparent. Instead, they became the worlds biggest liars! The gigs up!!

No I'm not retarded just did not explain what I meant correctly. You are correct in your description. What I was meaning was it takes both the Senate and the House to pass a bill or law or any legislation before the President can sign it and make it final the President can approve it or veto it. What ever party that has control of all three steps can basically do or UNDO anything they want.

There is none so blind as those who will not see and none so ignorant as those that will not learn.

Romney is famous for lying and his flip flops and his etch-a-sketch program. You need to either get back on your meds or get on new ones. You are the kettle calling the pot black but then I think that right there is what the real problem is with some of you ardent Romney supporters. We have a black President and you just can't deal with it.
