I was driving on the highway one evening at dusk when there wasn't much traffic out. I was driving about 35mph - too slow, I guess, but I have a fear of deer coming out on me in populous deer areas because I once hit one. Early mornings and early evenings seem to be the time that deer most often come out. I was being overly cautious, but as I've stated there wasn't much traffic out. I wasn't causing anyone to have change lanes or put on brakes quickly or anything. I was in the right hand "slower traffic" lane. All of a sudden, blue lights are flashing behind me from a police cruiser that came out of nowhere. I thought I'd just tell the officer why I was going slow. He, however, had to go through the whole process - getting my plates checked out, produce registration, etc. I had short sleeves on and hadn't noticed some bath powder on my arm that I hadn't rubbed in thoroughly. He noticed it and asked me what it was. I told him, but I guess he didn't buy it or just didn't want to buy it. He was very arrogant and haughty, probably a narcissist that loves his position of authority and the adenaline rush making an arrest gives him. To make a long story short, he looked up my nose with a flashlight and exclaimed "You've been snorting something because there's something up your nose!" He immediately slapped handcuffs on me and got my car towed. I was humiliated at my hometown hospital where he escorted me in with the handcuffs on to have lab tests done. I was thrown in jail for three nights, had to appear in my home county in an orange jail suit with handcuffs and shackles, had to get my car out of impound at a cost of $260, had to retain an attorney for $1000. The day in court I get fined $100 for driving too slow - a minor traffic offense. I was guilty until proven innocent. I was found not guilty of a DUI, but I was punished up to the time I was found not guilty by incarceration, humiliations and money spent on tow and lawyer attainment. My not guilty of a DUI found by the court only stopped me from being further punished. I had already been greatly punished. I don't know why this cop was bent on arresting me - not everyone he stops is a criminal. I think he just enjoyed the power trip he got out of it, especially of arresting a 53 year old woman with no record. This was a traumatic experience for me and I'm not getting over it. I can't believe a cop could be so dishonest - I thought they were supposed to be people of virtue and integrity. He wrote several lies in his police report also about me. I hate the thought of him still being out there, probably arresting other innocent people. I can only hope someday, karma will come his way or God will intervene in his wrongdoings.

Sweetheart one of the things parolees are using to get high is bath products and incense.. If you only knew the extremes they go through to get high. You are not the first or last this will happen to. But in his defense he has herd and seen every lie and excuse you can think of.. If he believed everyone who told him bath powder and i was cautious of deer well lets just say the streets would be alot worse than they are. It suck but reality is he has to make a call by what he sees and 35 under and powder dont look good for you when the man pulls you over. At 53 I believe you would no that doing that under the limit on any road in the country would get you pulled over.

I wasn't aware of bath products being associated with anything that would get a person high. Thanks for the info. Still, he lied about something being up my nose. There was nothing in my nose that shouldn't be there. He also wrote some falsehoods about me in his police report. I realize that police have to make some calls, but he had already done a check on me that showed I had no record. There are plenty of criminals out there, but MOST people AREN'T criminals. I do tend to drive slow on occasions and have done so for most of my life. I have been stopped about three times through the years for this, but was never ticketed before, let alone arrested. I didn't think you could get a ticket for driving too slow unless it was an area where a minimum speed is posted. I guess those cops that didn't ticket me when I drove too slow, didn't do me a favor. If I had gotten ticketed previously, I probably would have never gone too slow after that. I just met up with the wrong cop. He was very arrogant and haughty - probably on an ego trip and enjoys the power of being a cop and inflicting his power on people. He is probably a narcissist. If you don't know what a narcissist is, you can google narcissistic personality disorder. Unfortunately, narcissists often manage to get into a position of authority. Some bosses are narcissists and make life miserable for their employees. This cop was also very short in stature. I don't like to say anything about a person's looks, and your height isn't something you can't control,, but I have had people say that this cop has what they call "little man's syndrome" - he can't flaunt his body around, but he can flaunt that uniform and badge around.

It is hard to believe, but it is true. This did happen to me. Think what you want - someday you might meet up with the wrong person that accuses you falsely and people won't believe you either.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of smart alecks on topix. These smart alecks are driving the people that have interesting and informative comments away from interacting or posting on topix.
