I recently looked at a job online there and found out that I do not want to sell cars there.

They sometimes use a 4 square selling process and customers end up in my opinion paying way too much for a automobile.

Here is how you get confused when a dealer uses the 4 square selling tactic:

http://consumerist.com/2007/03/30/dealerships...

The “worksheet”(or four-square, as it’s called) is the first thing a person will see when they sit down to negotiate a car’s price. This sheet is used both in used and new car sales. When the interested party sits down, they’ve already driven the car, and have talked to the salesman about what they’re looking for. The salesman has had the trade evaluated, if there is one, and has gotten the customers something to drink to take the edge off.

The salesman will only put down the make, model, VIN and customers information (not pictured). Then, the salesman will have the customer initial the part that says “I will buy today if numbers are agreeable to both parties.” If there’s any resistance (which normally there isn’t), the salesman simply says that its to make sure that the customer really is ready to drive the car off the lot today – IF they can get the numbers right. I never had anyone not sign the form who was actually willing to buy the car today. By doing this, you have shown your commitment to the manager in the tower (tower: back room, usually behind glass, where the salesman goes to confer with his manager.)(A note about the tower: This is where the deal actually takes place. The salesman you are dealing with is NOT who you are negotiating with – the sales manager, who sits behind a desk (and is usually one of the scummiest people you’ll ever meet) is who’s actually going to be haggling with you. This will not happen in front of you, nor will you see what is actually happening. It’s a bit of theatre, this part.) Read the link.

How do I know they probably use this? In their job description, it clearly says "Knowledge of 4 square selling process a plus".

I don't want to sell anyplace that in my opinion is playing games with customers.

I suggest negotiating over the phone and settling on a price before ever going to a car lot. Know what your trade is worth from a discounted price.

Good luck.

Not sure what you mean. I don't like the idea of high pressure although every dealer around is the same. I like buying off of private sellers. They don't pressure me to buy.

Took my car there for some
Cosmetic issues that should
Be covered under the warranty. The service manager looked at it and said he would call me in a few days. He never did so I called him back approx 4 days later. He said he was just putting in to the computer and would call me. 6 weeks went by and he never called, so my husband called them again. They said they had no record of me being there, didn't even have my newest car listed under my name, and said I would have to bring it in again! We told them no, I had already taken a day off work to bring it in the first time! Looks like I will be finding another ford dealership!!!

I've been around this area for decades and in my opinion they are by far the most arrogant dealership around. Very, very pushy. Very fake people who are nothing like they try to portray themselves in their commercials. Just my opinion.

I bought my car from them in February (2013). Dude named Terry was the one who sold it to me, it was a used car. I went onto the lot telling them I wanted this red hatchback at the front which was about $13k. Terry ended up jacking up the price on a used Chevy which after a bit of research ended up costing me $3k over bluebook (which ended up costing the same as the hatch after all was said and done, not the car I wanted.) When I was asking him about the bluebook price which was shown to me, he simply told me to ignore that. They tacked on their completely useless extended warranty (which I ended up using within 2 months of owning the car.) When I used the warranty for what would have been a $35 repair, they ended up sub-letting the tow bill onto me (which should have been covered by my warranty) which ended up bringing me to exactly my $100 deductible. Bunch of damn crooks if you ask me, I won't be going back there for my next car.

Ah shut up you bunch of crybaby windbags. Have you ever tried selling cars? Customers are unrealistic windbags. All you guys do is complain and complain. Why don't you get off your arses and come trying to sell cars sometime? Oh that's right, your think you know to much to become a low life salesperson but you can bite me because I make nearly 6 figures a year.

Exactly why no one gives a care what your problems are. If you don't sell a cheap car, there are a million dealers. There are also millions of people who will get taken advantage of, but I for one plan to have infinite amounts of time to bargain on future cars and no sympathy for the poor sales rep who apparently makes more money than the people he's ripping off. Thanks for representing your ilk in such a positive manner...

He won't be there long unless he got a contract for a set period. He can't work for someone else. Has to be in control!
And I'm sure the family members aren't going to stick around when they have to answer to someone else!!
