Unfortunately, Michael died from a substance abuse disease. Duster will kill you. If you use Duster you are playing Russian Roulette every time. There is no lead up symptoms for you to "stop just before"...you just die.
Inhaling computer duster can cause sudden death or permanent brain damage from one use. Inhalants are without doubt the most dangerous recreational chemicals in existence.

First off I would like to express what a tragic loss this is for everyone. Mikey was a beautiful human being the world could use more of him. I was his roommate in Delray Beach Florida and good friend for 6 years now.. I've spoken to some of his friends back home and explained what had happened. I found him in the apartment at 3 am on Sunday morning. When I walked into the door My first thought was he had just did something really dumb and passed out. When I shook him I realized he was extremely cold, I dialed 911 and turned him over to realize he was purple and he had gone... Mikey touched so many lives in the time I've known him and I was blessed to be a friend of his, with a giant smile and a infectious laugh he was one of the greatest guys I had ever known. This situation made me really realize what a gift life is and never take it for granted or assume that tomorrow is promised because it is not. For all of you who are in pain my prayers go out to you as well.. This is a tragedy. Hopefully this will show people that regardless of the poison like someone in this thread said before its Russian roulette.. Keep him in your prayers, god has a special angel there with him.. I know that I will never forget him, and will continue to celebrate and honor his life.. God Bless you all take care

When will drug addiction community stop the bullshit of segregating themselves and putting them together to fail. Delray, FL is one of those places. I knew Michael. His, "friends" were my friends who also have issues. They would make the excuse that they were each others "sponsors". Just excuses to hang out and get high. Misery loves company. The rehabs and halfway houses in Delray are just a revolving door. As Michael once told me "never trust a drug addict, unless they are willing to take a drug test at a moments notice, NEVER". Did anyone read his last post on FaceBook? Where were his "friends"?

Michael didnt want it, yet kept coming back to hang with his "friends" in Delray, you all know who you are...all while telling family and true friends he was "working a program" he was even someone ones " sponsor" , IN THE WORDS OF MICHAEL NIDAY "NEVER TRUST A DRUG ADDICT"

No, it was a way to get high that addicts think they are still clean. If they aren't doing their chosen drug I.e. heroin, then they think they are "doing fine"

Surround yourself with the winners kids ... That's what I did. You can work a solid program regardless of where you live in this world. The fact is we all have a choice to use or not. This disease is cunning, baffling and powerful. To sit and speculate on what caused him to continue using, falls only on him. Unfortunately we will never know that reason.

I choose just for today to not pick up.

Peace be with you, man. May your worst days in recovery be better than your best days in relapse. One second at a time.

Hello everyone ,
I was a very very close friend of Michael years ago , before he made the move to FL. I have constantly raved about him to numerous people throughout my life about how he was such an amazing person and truly great to be around. I have tried over the years to reach out to him, but we just didn't make the connection. I got the news two days ago and it was very shocking. All i can think is where were his friends when this happened ? How did this happen? Who did he live with ? How could somebody let this tragedy unfold ? I would like to know who he was hanging out with and his associations. This is truly a tragedy and a lesson to those who were his so-called "friends". I have my deepest sympathies for his family and friends who CARED for him. I have much anger towards the people who FED this addiction and catered to it. I am still in shock and still can't belive it. Again , my deepest sympthathies to his family, I can't imagine what they are going through.
