Well I've read studies that say it works and I've seen the one from the OSU professor that says no change. So, its going to stay the same or maybe get better. I don't see a problem with giving it a shot in that case. I've also read that parents and kids do in fact like it better after its been implemented. Cheaper vacation during off peak times. And other benefits. Like being able to accelerate the smarter kids allowing them to graduate earlier. It is more effective for at risk and low income children. Sure are a lot of those out Wayne.

Nice little potshots at Wayne buddy. Very mature of you <insert sarcasm>.

Looking at the times of your posts, it's obvious that you did not take the time to read the materials suggested to you so any comments you have to make are invalid.

Many people live and learn, you just live.

Yeah. Let's educate them so they don't end up like their parents.

I don't happen to have the sources. I looked into it when my nephews were changing to a year round calendar. They ended up liking it and both are doing well. I'm sure you can figure out google and find some info for yourself. Check wiki. It has some sourced information.

I used to work at Beverly Hills. The only time the kids are not allowed to talk is when they were going threw the lunch line because you could not hear any of the children giving their lunch number. They did watch movies after they ate only because the grounds outside was muddy or it was raining. They did go outside just to hang out on the prettier days. Often the children opted to stay in to watch the movie.

It has been tried over and over. It does not increase anything but the budget. We moved away from it long ago. I am surprised that your area is considering it frankly.

You have nothing to substantiate your argument. Wiki is not reliable as it is user driven. Please present your in depth research findings. We all would love to see you prove your point. Let me guess, you are thinking "I do not have to prove anything to anyone.". That sure is an easy way to say that you are wrong.

It's not definite. Just getting input. We need to go to one of the meetings before we all flip out.

It most definitely is definite. Several Cabell County teachers who are in the know have told me that it IS going to happen.
