Sig Sauer P239 in 40cal. Great size for concealed, still enough to handle comfortable and plenty of stopping power. Plus reliability of Sig. Their moto "to hell and back reliability" is correct.

I carry a blued Smith and Wesson model 10, 6 inch barrel loaded, custom action job from S&W and coco bolo wood grips.I load it with 158 grain hollow point ammunition with a speed loader on the opposite side of my belt. Why carry such a large and cumbersome revolver? Real simple. Whatever I shoot with it, I hit where I aim out to several yards. Sure chances are if I have to shoot an individual that's trying to rob/murder me it'll be up close but to me I just want to ensure I kill the a$$hole so they don't sue me in civil court or live off my tax dollars for the rest I their lives. BTW before I get flamed for sounding heartless, I work in Human Services with the intellectually disabled and have nothing but compassion for those that cannot help themselves. I'm just sick of crime that is primarily due to drug addiction or unwillingness to work a job.

Not joking here; are you old enough to carry a gun?

Spleen is so stereotypically liberal it is comical. The cherry on top is that it has to be a flamingly gay man behind that screen name. Others are nearly so narcissistic.

Sempron obviously knows his firearms, and doesn't strike me as an irresponsible gun owner, while others in this thread have (yet you don't point those out). It's funny that you seek him out to make this into yet another political debate with you at the center of the discussion, when it had nothing to do with either at the beginning.

Well, thank you Mr.Thread Policeman.
Sempron comes across as a teenager, and a dumb one at that. My 16 year old far-eclipses him. SO my question was valid.
What's the political debate?

Your question was valid because of your far-off, subjective opinion? Um, sure, whatever. Given that you spend far more time here, in restaurants, sleeping until noon, and paling around bars, I'd say if your 16 year old is anything positive it wasn't due to anything you did.

And what's the deal playing stupid about the political implications of your posts here?

Spleencage knows nothing about firearms or 2A rights. So...I'm not going to waste a discussion with him.
I will put this offer out, though:
If she truly wants to learn more about this topic, I would be happy to meet up at the range and teach her about firearm safety and even let her shoot a few of my guns. If she still feels the same way after that, then I would be willing to debate her on it. Otherwise, I don't see how you can debate anything if one party is 100% clueless about the topic.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight. True it doesn't need loading and doesn't jamb; however, you must get up close and personal with a knife. Some don't have the stomach for it. Just sayin'

You have a right to your 'opinion', but to make the blanket statement that guns are for 'cowards' is unfair. I purchase health insurance because I'm afraid of a costly illness and the financial havoc it would cause. Is that cowardly too?

Taking precautions to protect yourself from, or prevent something you fear is not necessarily cowardice. A 5' female who carries a gun to protect herself isn't a coward to fear being overpowered and assaulted by a 6' male that outweighs her by 150 pounds. The gun goes a long way towards equalizing the differences in the physical makeup of each.

Guns are legitimate tools used by people for whom cowardice is not an apt label.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Aries

As the Sun cruises into chatty Gemini, you are likely to get involved in a spirited discussion in which you can explain your beliefs and values to other people. Not only will this help you to clarify what you think, it will also give others a useful insight into what really matters to you. On a more mundane note, this is a good day to return something faulty to a shop because you'll be able to put your case well.
